   Our experience was enhanced by the friendly care of whom I presume to have been the manager. He personally ensured our food was brought quickly as we were in a rush, and made sure our drinks were served. Great service from him.

   The staff are extremely friendly. The starter was poor but the main dish very good. Food value was Ok but the wine was very overpriced. The tables and chairs could do with replacing, the lighting was too bright and the music too loud.

   On arrival at the restaurant we were greeted by a throng of dinner suited men queuing for the bar. It was difficult to find the restaurant entrance. A very helpful and friendly waitress guided us to a table which was far enough away from the bar as possible. My wife requested a cocktail but due to the scenes at the bar it was suggested this would be difficult. Our waitress coped well with what appeared to be difficult circumstances. The starter and main course were very good however there was a long delay before the sweet course was served. I feel that when Christmas party time starts non party guests don’t receive the best service. If it hadn’t been for the charming waitress I think we would have walked out and found an eating establishment in Stratford.

   Our booking didn’t go through to Riverside. Luckily there were plenty of free tables inside the restaurant. It was very noisy as there were lots of people at the bar (from a conference that was taking place). The food was relatively good. However the chips were so boiling hot, we had to leave them for about 15 minutes. The service was excellent .

   Lovely setting and decent food but thought the menu was a little limited and they were clearly understaffed as many places are at the moment. Good for a spot of lunch but there are other options in town.

   We arrived to find that there wasn’t a table reserved for us. There was also a very big noisy group at the bar. It was impossible to get near enough to say that we weren’t staying and would like to cancel the booking. So we left. We have eaten on the terrace on another occasion recently and it was very good.

   Hice una reserva esperando comer en un restaurante, pero resulta que a esta hora solamente hay servicio en el bar. Terminamos comiendo del menú reducido del bar, siendo atendidos por los bar-tenders (muy amables, pero pues no son meseros de restaurante). La comida francamente...ni buena ni mala. Deberían corregir los horarios para no hacer reservas antes de las 17:00 cuando abre el restaurante.

    Excellent service. Welcomed by our waiter Sam who was so pleasant and friendly, nothing was to much trouble for him. He’s a real asset to your team. The food selection was limited and the main course came out before we’d finished our starters so perhaps a little to efficient. The ambience and surroundings were lovely.

    We arrived at the time we had booked, they didn’t have our table reserved so they tried to seat us on another terrace, not the one booked. We asked to be seated on the upper terrace and they managed to seat us but they were very obviously annoyed, and a little rude. Ordered starters and mains which all came out together and when we said we ordered them as starters and mains were told “well that’s not what the order says” they sent them back and whilst we were eating our starters they asked us 4 times if we had finished. Hey presto when the mains came out they were very obviously reheated. There was hot salad on my plate! All the food was going to the wrong tables, wrong orders, the table next to us waited an hour for their drinks. Starters were lovely, mains were not. We ordered more drinks which they got wrong twice, so we left straight after eating what we could. To sum it up an awful evening, almost amusingly so, as it was chaos, the staff minus two lads working were rude and the food was kept under a hot plate. We won’t be returning - such a shame as it’s a beautiful setting. One word of advice to the management please ask your waitresses with really long hair to tie it back, there was hair everywhere and we could hear other people saying the same!

    Drinks and meal on the terrace. Thought this would be a nice change for us locals to eat and drink on their terrace. We had pre booked a Tipi only to be told when we got there that the reservation had not gone through to the staff and it was fully booked.(excuse the pun) We were quite happy to be sat on the terrace. I would say though that they seemed understaffed and there were constant mix ups with food delivered to wrong tables and people leaving their food. They really do need to get on top of staffing and delivery also chef needs to ensure that food is palatable.I will say their only saving grace is a chap called fernando who endeavoured to try and keep everyone fed and watered to the best of his ability..

    The table was not available at the booked time. We were served initial drinks and were avoided for the rest of the evening. Even when I stood in front of the host at the bar he said he was too busy to sort out my bill for the two drinks brought to the table on arrival.

    We arrived to the venue and got told our booking doesn’t exist then after waiting we finally got a table where we waited another hour + for them to bring somebody else’s food to our table and their response was they had 200 other guest. We left immediately Poor personal hygiene from staff, messy restaurant & bugs all over the dirty tables

    The manager of the restaurant was incredibly rude and obnoxious to both his staff (lovey lady on the bar trying her hardest and the waiting staff) and the guests. He was running around speaking loudly how people were sat at tables too large for them and wasting space, people needed to hurry up, barking at the staff that they’re messing everything up etc. He was making a lot of people very uncomfortable with his remarks and comments and came across very rude. The gentleman who served us our food and the bar lady were very pleasant but when customers (ourselves included) made it clear they needed to speak up about management, they made it clear they were bullied.

    Enjoyed overall. No trace of booked table on arrival, no Appletise, no glass on rattan table top so glasses were very precarious, had to find our own knives, forks, napkins etc. This is a beautiful hotel, but needs managing a lot better around the outside bar and terrace.

    Walked in to our reservation- none of the staff had our booking down and was asked to sit outside- no designated seating. Had received a call on the Friday before my booking to say there was a double booking and we had been moved from the hut booking to outdoor dining which was fine- however me and my partner left after one drink- poor service and non attentive staff- no warmth from the staff or any interest in serving- extremely disappointing

    No customer service at all. Lots of staff stood around talking, food and drink had to be ordered from the bar no waitress service. One meal was forgotten so everyone else had finished when mine arrived, not even a sorry we forgot it! It’s a shame it could be lovely, needs a manager who can manage.

    Do not 'book' here. This is a hotel bar it is NOT a restaurant! This should not be on open table, the staff laughed at me when I told them I had booked a table. The do not take reservations! Also the staff are terribly rude and incompetent. We paid £12 for two drinks and left soon after.

    The space is amazing, no question about that. Food is overpriced and disappointingly awful, frozen pizza with piled up toppings that renders it inedible. You can taste that oil in deep fat fryer is old. 4 waiters at the bar being very causal and totally not interested in the queue with one of them serving - despite the ambiance, would not recommend or go back, just because it’s Stratford, it doesn’t mean you get away with anything

    We were on holiday. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate our every need. The meal was delicious. Relaxing on the terrace with drinks was fantastic. Highly recommend.

    Hotel was fine but the bar service and restaurant was beyond poor. Staff had no clue what an a la cart menu was, given a bar snack menu despite paying a dinner, B&B rate. Service was terrible and when I pointed this out the excuse was they were understaffed. Total evening was a shambles. Only good thing was on checking out the drinks were taken off the bill by way of an apology.

    I booked an outdoor table not knowing it was a reduced menu outside. The guy in charge assured us he would look after us and we could have what we wanted. Everything was excellent, attentive service, excellent food, fabulous ambiance. Best experience we’ve had all holiday

    Staff very vague no answers. The manager no eye contact didn't know the names of his staff. Saw 3 different menus given a different one when at the table. Had to pay drinks separately as couldn't be added to the table. On seeing the last menu we walked out and went elsewhere.

    The setting is superb, quirky setting, lovely views of the river, great idea. However what could be somewhere absolutely superb is ruined by the food. The menu is very basic and not very varied, I get it is not meant to be fancy food given is outside and probably around the vibe of the surroundings but you can still have good quality of food especially given the prices are not cheap. We only had a couple of starters in the end given the lack of choice but so poor. I had chicken wings which I would suggest were microwaved or packaged oven cooked, basically dry very small and 6 for £8!. My other half then had garlic bread which was basically 2 small pieces of bread with cheese on top (No garlic to be found), again expensive (cant remember how much. The service was quite good and I appreciated the waitress awknowledging herself that the starters were not good that we had, however after saying wasn't happy a 15% discount was applied. I would suggest either give us more something more substantial such as a free drink, or nothing at all This could be superb if sorted the food out, as it is it is still a superb setting for a drink only
