A New American Tavern, Russell House Tavern is a comfortable gathering spot for every occasion-from casual lunch breaks on the patio to after-work cocktails in the upstairs tavern to functions in the private dining room and everything in between. Russell House Tavern delivers a seasonally-inspired menu of modern interpretations of American classics, including signatures like the R. House Burger, a selection of Tavern Pizzas and Steak Frites among other dishes. To complement the menu, Russell House Tavern serves an interesting collection of all-star American wines, and a locally-driven craft beer selection. The cocktail menu strikes a balance between familiar classics and modern hand-crafted recipes using only fresh juices, homemade syrups and infusions.

Great menu options, outstanding, friendly service, and though it was busy, it wasn’t too loud to hear.

Everyone from the to host stands, to our server Jacob and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The cooks went out of their way to find me something to put on my burger instead of bacon and they made it so delicious. Thank you for a great experience and we thought that the place was run so well. That's why it's busy because you get great service great food and a lovely atmosphere

Our bar spot was still reserved despite our 5-10 minute late arrival. Bartender was personable and professional. Entrees were delivered promptly with great presentation and superb flavor. Four stars mainly due to long, unexpected delivery of an easy sorbet dessert. We had to request it “To Go” since we had a show to attend.

Great experience at Russell House. The food was very good, especially the main courses. Service was exceptional -- Aaron was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and efficient. We sat outside during a heavy rain storm and were very comfortable with the covered patio and heaters.

Third time eating here and it was very, very good. Started with oyster and they fresh, sweet, and a little briny. We also had the Harvard Square Fries, which reminded us of pouting. Agsin, they were very tasty. For mains, my wife had the New York strip and I had the burger. Both were perfect. Great flavor and cooked exactly how we like them. Dessert was the Homemade Ice Cream Trio. We loved it. Great flavor and richness, and just a little sweet. Definitely worth trying. They always do a great drink and this time was no different. My whiskey sour was made exactly how I like it - sweet, a little tart, and creamy texture from the egg white. Our server, Brendan, took really good care of us. He was attentive, but not smothering. Be sure to eat here. You won't be disappointed.
