   We had Pete’s Magic Dragon (Unagi, crab, cucumber, avocado), Seared Pork (Kalbi, sesame, scallion), Chilean Sea Bass (Braised baby fennel, roasted fingerling potatoes, carrot puree, Castelvetrano olives, orange vinaigrette), Grilled Octopus (Fingerling potatoes, caponata relish, Puttanesca sauce, micro arugula), Fennel Citrus Salad (Butter lettuce, baby spinach, asparagus, fennel, crispy fried heirloom carrots, citrus vinaigrette), and finally Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake (Rich New York style cheesecake, pineapple, warm pecan – caramel sauce, maraschino cherry). And we thought... "how can we eat it all?" And we almost did. Outsdanding

   Our server , whose name was Ashley, was really excellent. So were the bartenders, we had a cocktail at the bar first before going to the table. Everything was great. The food and preparation outstanding which I already covered in the ratings. The following is from me to you. I do not want to see this part put out to the public. I did not mind that you have the automatic 20% service charge ("tip") . I did not like that you taxed it. I do not think it is fair, or good practice to put in the price of the dinner other hidden methods of adding to what you put in your pocket. I realize times have changed after the COVID and are tough (the present economy doesn't help), but your restaurant is competitive. It is not the airport or an NFL game where a single beer costs more than a store bought six-pack of the same brand. Again, the whole dining experience was great. Lastly, thanks for the desserts, it was our anniversary. Al Lang

   Great service but thought the food was just ok. The chilean sea bass was good but too expensive. My boys enjoyed the sushi but have had better quality at much less expensive establishments.

   We love Seastar. Normally visit every few months. Service as always was outstanding. Why the 3 star. I went in thinking of getting the Ahi Tuna - always very good. But the Shrimp and Grits caught my eye. Also know it was new on the menu. The sauce was really bland and the grits were in clumps having more the consistency of chunks of potato. If you are expecting a little spicy dish you will not be happy. I should have stuck with my go to meal.

   My to go when I want lighter but still flavorful and satisfying meals! Best fish, a great variety, in Bellevue! My very favorite is the mahi mahi, delicious and sooooo tasty and tender!

    I had to change our reservation twice before our arrival and the staff was responsive and helpful. When our party arrived, a little early, they were friendly and accommodating. Once we were seated, it was a long wait until our server greeted us. It was a very long wait until we could order drinks. It was an incredibly long wait after we ordered drinks and appetizers before we received them. It felt as though we were either searching for our server or waiting on ordered items. Twice, we ordered items, and they were repeated back to us, but we did not receive them. While we enjoyed the evening (the Steelhead was amazing), it was the company we enjoyed, our overall experience was not what we expected.

    Seastar is excellent! The food was perfectly prepared and presented. The wait person was appropriately attentive. And, a little bonus, they have a parking garage with a 3hr allowance with your voucher.

    I visited sea star with a guest recently to celebrate my birthday. We had a cocktail in the bar as our table was being prepared and service was timely and drink was delicious. As we were being escorted to our table, I took in the ambience of the restaurant and just knew I was going to have a great experience. Our server came out pretty quickly after we sat to take our orders and recommended the perfect dish for me for my birthday after I asked for his suggestion. My guest considers himself vegan, but will I have some seafood and was surprised to find a foraged wild mushroom succotash dish and crab sushi roll…his sushi was okay, but his wild mushroom dish was lacking mushroom and cold. My recommended dish was the Mahi Mahi SaTeh marinade, sticky rice, cucumber-mac nut relish, snow peas, Thai sweet chili butter sauce, the dish was pretty, but cold and way too sweet and the mahi-mahi had a bit of slime to it as if okra was a part of the ingredients. Our server asked what I thought and I told him my thoughts and he asked if I would like to try something else and I said yes let’s go with the salmon dish…Fresh King Salmon Fire-Grilled, served with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus…again the presentation was very pretty, the salmon had a nice char to it, but the entire dish was lacking flavor. My guest was upset and asked for the check so that we could leave and he took me to a spot in Seattle for a fresh, hot and delicious salmon dish. Our server was very apologetic, took my meal off the ticket and gave me a box of chocolate truffles.

    Seastar has always been a great experience for us. We have been going here for years now and never disappointed. The seafood tower is a favorite of ours. Plus the truffle fries!

    This is the loudest and most crowded restaurant I’ve ever been to, especially at this price range it’s just unacceptable and so freaking ridiculous!! Also they force charge 20% service fee but I feel 0% service or good attitude. Never come to this place to waste money please.

    Seastar is our go-to restaurant for seafood. The steelhead had a wonderful sauce and the bisque was fantastic, as was the coconut cream pie. We really appreciated the rose at the end, too (on Valentine's Day).

    Food was excellent as always. Service was fine - not great, not bad. They were very busy, and it was very loud in the restaurant. I'm missing social distancing - they had crammed as many tables as would fit into the space and it was very crowded and noisy.

    I’ve come to Seastar for several special occasions, and it never disappoints. Last night, brought friends as a thank you gift and to celebrate retirement. Crab cakes and sushi appetizers were very fresh tasting, and the sauce that crab cakes sit upon is delicious. The Petr ale sole is my “go to,” with delightfully crunchy Parmesan crust. Scallops were nicely seared in wonderful succotash, and sea bass was reportedly great, too (husband did not share!) We will come back again. Though somewhat expensive, given the quality, portion size, and presentation, it’s worth it!

    Excellent crab cakes, lobster bisque, seafood Tower, and pear & shrimp salad. All must get off you go to Seastar. Service is terrific. Parking is free with validation.

    Back again for a birthday dinner that did not disappoint! Caesar salad was delicious. Fro entrees, we had the Mahi Mahi, Steelhead, Ahi, and Petrale Sole. All amazing! The raspberry cheesecake was delicious!

    Excellent food with outstanding presentation. If you still have room after dinner, please explore the dessert menu because you won't be disappointed. We chose an anniversary for our first visit to Seastar. We enjoyed the service and the atmosphere. It has an upscale look but it's not full of stuffy people. Casual to business casual is perfectly fine. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The printed explanation about the automatic 20% surcharge that is retained as general revenue for the restaurant (so they can pay industry leading wages) is confusing and a bit intimidating. It really makes you feel like you are stiffing the wait staff if you don't add tip beyond that. Not wanting to stiff the server, we added a 20% tip, so the result is with the surcharge, the restaurant is 20% more expensive than competitors.

    The crab cakes were absolutely delicious. The king salmon was so tender, it melted in my mouth. Our server was excellent. We had a perfect meal, as we always do at Seastar.

    As usual, a good experience, the food is high quality, as expected, and service was excellent prior to arrival, in particular arranging wine decanting and a wine-tailored menu. The sommelier on duty, Taylor, did an excellent job with wine preparation and keeping me informed about changes made to my recommended food pairings — the choices were excellent. After arrival the main server came quite frequently to check on us, but it bordered on too frequently. As it was a business dinner (marked as such on the OpenTable app), conversational interruption wasn’t as appropriate. Also, the wine and water service were not coordinated with the presentation of the courses, so for all but the last course we had to wait for wine to arrive while the course was sitting in front of us. But overall it’s a reliable and good food experience, and they have an excellent wine list with some very special selections from California. I recommend Seastar.

    I’m salivating as I write this. The steelhead was impressive. Rich sauces & deep flavors. Fish like I’ve never had before! My date had the swordfish and absolutely loved every bite. Great wine list & fantastic service. I wish I could eat here every day.

    Expensive, mandatory 20% tip (so they punish you with high bottle wine prices and a 20% tip), server forgot things, very loud. I don't understand the appeal.
