When Simon Schneitter founded Homestead in 1886, he established a tradition of warm hospitality and friendly service.                           We thought we could get a decent meal here. First we asked the server if we could sit outside, he informed us that it would be an extra $40 to do so. So being that half of our party wanted to sit inside we decided against it. We were seated at a dirty table. Menu was nearly the exact same as the cafe next door, in fact that’s where the food was heated up in a convection oven. We ordered a charcuterie board for our party to share as we noticed the table next to us had a nice looking one with a variety of different meat on it. Ours only came with 2 pieces of prosciutto whereas it appears it should have came with a lot more. SUPER disappointed. The food was subpar. Second waitress was super nice, first waiter not so much.

                          The Alpenglobes shouldn’t even be an option if the weather isn’t ideal for it. Too hot for a nice day in April. The food was sold as being “family style” because it just comes out whenever- not necessarily all at the same time for individual meals but the servings are not family style size. Splitting a 1/2 sandwich between 4 isn’t feeding any family. Its was tasty but not presented as described.

                          I took my daughter to the Mad Hatter tea event for her 14th birthday. We go to tea often and this was unfortunately, our worst experience yet. We arrived to our globe and there were food spills on the rug and a dirty fork by the couch. We got our water and there were white floaties in both. The tea selection was store bought tea bags, the cheap kind, no loose leaf. The finger sandwiches and snacks were dry and not good. We spent more money here than we do for high tea at the Grand America Hotel. We were both pretty disappointed. Paying $130 for a dirty room and store bought bagged tea was really a waste of money.

                          Our waitress was great and very accommodating. The reservation fee should be lower for the globes. You pay an awful lot for the food that involves fresh salad and chicken, short ribs along with instant potatoes, frozen potatoes with a chef twist for an expensive price. That was the downside but the biggest upside was spending time together as a family in a great, quiet space for a long time. We enjoyed the ambiance and the new experience.

                          Very overpriced for what we got. When we checked in they said the globe was warm but a breaker had tripped and no one noticed. So it was cold the whole time. We sat so bundled hardly moving. What we ordered was good but I wasn't expecting such a simple menu. Our server was very sweet and amazing though.

                          We came here for a romantic Valentines dinner and we were very disappointed at the quality of the restaurant. The photos online made it look WAY nicer than it is, with pictures of craft cocktails and nice tables. We reserved one of the globes for $50 and we were seated in one with leather living room furniture. They only had canned cocktails and beer. The menu online did not match the menu they had. We were fortunate to get a really nice server, Aaron, who understood our disappointment and comped our $50 globe fee. Overall, the food was good, not great. The vibes were not what we expected for a “nice dinner out.” Would likely not come again.

                          OK, well this didn’t go well. We arrived on time for our 6 PM reservation. The Homestead resort hostess informed us she had no record of our reservation. Despite me showing her our confirmation. I also informed her I had called that day and left a message regarding our reservation. No one ever called me back. We had reserved one of the globes for dining she was very accommodating and said she would clear one out for us. We patiently waited once seated in the globe. We discovered it really wasn’t that warm. One of the heaters wasn’t working and the other heater would go between heat and cold. We had them come out and try and get the heaters to work. They did offer us blankets. One of us ordered a glass of Cabernet. The server came back with about a quarter of a glass of Cabernet and said we don’t have anymore, so I’m just gonna give you the rest of what was in the bottle… They clearly are not in a position to host people right now very dissatisfied with visit. I did tell the hostess she should do something about the fact that I made a reservation on open table and she had no record of it and she actually said this has happened a couple of times in the last week so clearly management is not on top of their game.
