Slug and Lettuce Edinburgh arrived on George Street on the 6th May 2015.

Slug & Lettuce George Street Edinburgh is a cool and contemporary bar, newly established on the city’s prestigious George Street. Our aim is to attract those seeking high quality food and cocktails in a stylish environment.

Join us for a leisurely or working lunch, afternoon meetings or simply recharge your batteries after a hard day shopping! Our food Menu is served daily from 10am until 10pm including Sundays.

We are a family friendly bar with a children's menu being served up until 8pm. Please be aware that children must be off the premises by 8pm due to licencing conditions.

Very bad experience! Had a table booked and confirmed via email and txt msg for a table of 8 on 29th November at 5pm to arrive at the slog and lettuce to say we didn’t have a booking! The staff member who was front of house was very rude and unapologetic simply said he could do nothing to help the situation! Worst customer service I have ever had. Really disappointed as it was a girls Christmas Day out in Edinburgh I had booked and had reservation but they said they didn’t have our booking. We then went along to the fat hippo who with luck managed to get us a table and went above and beyond!

Had no note of my booking , waiting at least 5 minutes before anyone asked if they could help. Staff were very slow. Tried to order through the app with no success , ordered at bar and took at least 20/25 To arrive and the place was not that busy with food. Food was also not that warm. Concentrating on the Cocktails more. Very disappointed with visit .

We visited Slug & Lettuce before Oasis on Friday 08/08/25. This was our first night out as a married couple so we wanted to visit somewhere special with an established reputation, we were massively, massively disappointed by the experience. Severly understaffed for Fringe month, let alone some of the biggest events of the year in the city, we hadn’t been before so didn’t know how to order, spent half an hour trying to get the app to download despite there being no mobile data signal whatsoever inside the venue, and trying to access the wifi was like trying to hack the Pentagon. Eventually gave up and stood in a half hour queue at the bar, got our stuff ordered and then waited on our meals. Entered the venue at half 3, got our first course about 20 past 4, portion size on the crispy shredded chicken was tiny but whatever, the tall girl with the very long hair who was the only waitress on, was very pleasant and doing her best despite being left with far too much to do on her own, the rest of the staff who were there were more concerned with standing together at the cocktail prep area than giving her a hand, she was excellent though. We had intended on staying for a few drinks after our meal but the service was so slow and the time was now the time we had wanted to be in Murrayfield for so we left. I wouldn’t come back.

Great cocktails. The atmosphere is on point. We took a million pictures in the photo booth. Amazing night.
