   Overall a good, not great, dining experience. Squash blossom appetizer best thing we had. Eggplant Parmesan was overcooked & soggy. Best part was waiter opened 2 bottles of wine for us to try before deciding which one we wanted — a first and very welcome gesture.

   We had the tomahawk pork chop and the linguini and clams and both were outstanding! Wealso has the zucchini blossoms and ceasar salad and they were terrific too! It had been a while since we had gone to Solare but we will be back very soon! Great food and fabulous service!!!

    We enjoy and highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is timely and very friendly and professional. We will keep coming back. The owner also sends emails notifying me when there is a special event.

    Wonderful birthday dinner for my wife. Ecellent menu. My wife had scalops and rce, I had the lamb chops. We had a bruschetta with great toppings for an appetizer. She loved her Italian lemon drop beverage. A complimentary, and delicious tiramisu capped off the meal. The wait staff was gracious, helpful and wonderful.

    This was my first time at Solare! There were so many great choices on the menu. We loved the ambiance and service. The only thing I would have changed is a bit less salt on tge main dish. Definitely will be back.

    The risotto with scallops was delicious. I also ordered the arancini appetizer but they were disappointing. They were very small and had little filling in them. The desert I tried was creme brulee with pistacios. It was burnt on top but the flavor was good. I was seated close to the door which meant a lot of foot traffiic. It was also very noisy due to the loud voices from a large table of guests.

    Everything was wonderful. The food was so fresh, beautifully plated, and delicious. The service was attentive but not obsequious, and the atmosphere cozy and pleasant. Solare will be our new go to with family and friends! Thank you for a wonderful meal!

    Enjoyed our early Mother’s Day dinner! Our server was charming, the good fantastic and we loved sitting on the porch on a warm spring evening with our golden retriever welcome too. I’ve always loved Solare!

    The food was beyond exceptional for all four diners. The appetizers were great (zucchini blossoms and mussels), the salads were crisp and tasty and the entrees were all outstanding. Ahmed was our waiter and gave us great advice on what to order. Thank you for a fabulous dinner.

    We came to Solare when it first opened 12 yrs ago and several times since but this was first time since pandemic We were surprised to experience a tired worn interior, sweet but not attentive service and pretty mediocre fare. Darn!

    We have been to Solare several times and have never been disappointed. Last night we enjoyed Zucchini Blossoms, Ravioli, and Ossobuco. I highly recommend a visit to Solare!

    Appetizers and drinks were great. Pizzas was soggy. Cheese not melted. Needed to be cooked longer and crispier! Fettuccine dish was excellent. Stay away from pizza. It’s not a pizza joint. Fine food. Lunch was expensive.

    Esma was our waitress. She is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful dinner and everything was delicious. Francisco the bar tender is so nice, as well. We love Solare.

    Randy graciously changed our reservation seats to a quieter one. Food was very good and service was attentive without being overbearing. Miss the grilled octopus appetizer though…. Very pleasant to eat outside on a beautiful spring day.

    This was one of the best Italian meals I've eaten in San Diego. The butternut squash soup was out of this world, probably the best soup I've ever had. We also had the caesar salad and the vegan Pici co’ Brici, which were both flavorful and delicious. We will be back!

    Easter Sunday menu - we wanted to eat it all. What we did have (breakfast pizza, Carbonara, Salmon on plank, were all delicious! Staff was helpful, friendly, and gave good suggestions when we had questions. It was a great meal and a great place to celebrate with family and friends.

    The food was excelente, well valance flavors, the attention we revive from personal was very good, example of a good work place, even though the restaurant was to its FULL capacity, the service and spirit was always on point. This sprint is declining in the restaurant industry, not the case for Solare. What I notice, would need attention, is the tables and chairs, these are somewhat dirty, for example, when you grab the chair an pull up to the table, you can feel the gum piece stuck to frame of the chair, a bit disgusting. Needs more effort in keeping the place sparkling. New table cloth and napkins would be good to.
