   The food was incredible, and our server Katie made the entire experience wonderful. She made great suggestions and was super knowledgable of the entire menu. We will absolutely be back and will be requesting Katie as our server.

   Client Dinner, we did the $175 Omakase experience. It felt as if it were structured for in and out service to keep up with volume. Of 3 experiences in town Soto is not the ladder I do not anticipate a return. Plates were pretty, Uni, Salmon, Wagu rock, and final plate were good. Others fair.

    Taking some friends out for a special night. Only one place to go if you want the best food and the most relatable staff. We even had our dogs with us. Truly a great evening and thanks all to the talented chefs and quality servers. Thank you as always for a memorable and low key experience. I can’t say enough good about every item ordered and the complexity in each bite.

    Probably the best sushi I have had in the states. Absolutely perfect and unique with each bite! I would recommend to anyone in town. The service is excellent and the restaurant is a true gem.

    This was my fiancé and I second time here and it never disappoints. The head chef greeting us when we first sat down, the food is sensational. The oysters are a personal favorite. Everything about this place is worth every penny

    This is not your normal sushi place. Very affected. Tiny plates were laughable as we did as we were eating them, as it was barely one bite. Food excellent but still you have to know it is not a good place to go for authentic Japanese food. More Japanese tapas place.

    I’m from out of town and was my first time there, it was fantastic! The service was wonderful! A bit pricey for the portions but I got over that very fast because of how delicious it was! Highly recommend!

    We love every time we dine with Soto. They take my dietary needs very seriously (celiac disease) and everything is always incredibly delicious. The best sushi I have had in Austin and really anywhere. Book ahead of time because they do get busy.

    I appreciate that I can easily sit on the patio and whether it’s cool or hot, they have nice space heaters to accommodate. It’s hard to say what is the better. The food or the staff. You always feel respected and well tended to whether by the host staff, manager or server. I like to bring my pup and sit outside on the patio and they encourage pets. Really each thing you order is such a special experience and so thankful we have an option like Soto in our neighborhood. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough for dates, friends, or just a “treat yourself” time.

    The restaurant Moved my reservation to 9 pm from 8:30 pm the day before we were supposed to come in. When we should up at 8:55, we still had to wait 30 min. This was frustrating. Otherwise, food and service were great.

    Food was amazing, not the best fine dining i’ve had but still had some incredible flavors. However, the service was just embarrassing. I’ll never come back for that alone. I understand it was Valentine’s Day, but pushing my reservation back from 8:30 to 9, and then still not seating me until 9:50pm is unacceptable. Not only that, but the server couldn’t keep our dishes right. We missed two dishes, and she ended up bringing them out backwards. She eventually got a pen to start “checking off” our menu on what we got, and had to ask us several times what we received already. Absolutely unprofessional for a place of this standard. I really wish it would’ve been a better experience.

    The food was excellent as usual. But - we booked through open table for Valentine’s Day. There was NO indication that it’s tasting menu only and it’s $150 per person, no other options. This caught us my surprise. But ok, because there’s no way we can book anything else for Valentine’s Day last second. We went with it. Unfortunately the service was a “conveyer”, very different from what it usually is. They warned us we have strictly 1.5 hours off the bat. Then, they served us an entire 8 course menu in 40 minutes. The fastest meal I’ve ever had. No back stories came with each course, just quick “it’s XYZ fish”. Wait time for a glass of wine is about 10 minutes. A few of the courses that were served, they’d put it on the table and ask “oh wait did you already have this one”? Just not the experience we wanted at all. Left with $400 bill and after roughly 55 minutes.

    Came here with a couple of friends for my birthday. They treated us so well! The food was delicious and our waitress was super friendly & knowledgeable. We decided to do the omakase menu, which basically means you eat what they serve you. The portions were small but there were many of them. We were there for 2.5hrs so be ready to chill for a while. Plenty of time to get several glasses of sake :) Now, this place is not cheap and the omakase is $175/person. Not including drinks. So be prepared to pay. But we did not regret a single dollar. I think they might have had a valet out front but, honestly, plenty of free parking in the area, including a covered garage. Overall, we can't afford to come back every week but highly recommend, especially for a special occasion.

    It’s not a surprise the food is amazing. That I can grab a bite at a restaurant with great space heaters in February, get fantastic service. Some great bites and a truly well made craft margarita….with my pup on the patio….thankful places like Soto exist. A truly great experience every time.

    Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. We were able to turn a cold night around with the Omakase course and drink pairings. The highlight of the night (besides our server) was the staff finding out for us that the chefs use raw lemongrass sprout for the salmon over fire display. What a way to celebrate a birthday!
