Tellers: An American Chophouse
Our dinning experience was outstanding. I had the prime rib roast. Excellent service and steaks. Steve our waiter was great made our dining experience perfect. Look forward to our next visit.
The service as usual was excellent. Can not fault. The food, however, no so great. I ordered the hamburger, which I’ve enjoyed before. I always order it well done. This time it was so dry that I wanted to return, but decided not to. It was also extremely salty, which I might attest to the bacon which was a bit charred. I did not say anything to the waiter — but it will be a while before I visit again.
Excellent salad and the steaks were very seasoned and tasty. A bit pricey but worth the money, Went for my birthday and was very satisfied with the food and service. Highly recommend.
Excellent choice for a couples or group family. Historical building, very nicely designed, good food and excellent service provided by Andreas. I recommend it
Great bar, great atmosphere, great dining. Top notch food and service. A must go.
More noisy and crowded than usual due to Mother’s Day. Music made it difficult to hear. Food is wonderful.
Despite calling this restaurant in advance to say you’re running late and despite offering a credit card to hold a table for 30 minutes they will give your reservation away if 25 minutes late. We arrived almost on time but they have a policy that’s very unwelcoming and they do not care about the customer. My party drove from both manhattan and the Hamptons on a recommendation to try this place. The ambiance and service were lovely. Most of the food was tasty but one person requested rare salmon and received well done. The Delmonaco steak is tough with grizzle. The rest of the food was good. There’s a feeling here that “they’re all that...” but coming from a place in NYC and having world traveled I can assure them that they are not “all that”. Wake up and treat your customers as king- that’s your business. They aren’t grateful they have business by giving away tables. What a horrible policy. Also- get the food ordered correct. The 5 of us spent $425 with only one person having a cocktail so it’s not an inexpensive place. We’ve spent much more for a dinner at other places and we will not give them a second try especially traveling so far for no thanks.
We had dinner at one pm on mother’s day. Two got the brunch specials and the rest ordered off the regular menu. The Sunday prix fix is not available on holidays, which we were informed of in advance. Everything was perfect. We were not rushed, instead we were catered to. The waiter took the children to view the vault and made sure they were happy throughout the meal. Our wine glasses never emptied and the food was cooked to perfection. My mother and sister said they had never felt to special. Check out their lunch special also. You get what you pay for at this restaurant and I do not mind paying if the food and service is quality.
Service was phenomenal and food was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant if you’ve never been there!
Excellent service and delicious meal. I had the filet... it was the perfect medium rare. My wife had the tuna and said it was exceptional. The roasted Brussels sprouts and train wreck potatoes were worth the calories as well. Looking forward to our next Tellers meal!
We were lucky to make a last minute reservation. We were seated on time.
Staff was very cordial. They need to move us (a few moments after they sat us) and were not only very polite but bought us some appetizers for our trouble.
Food was excellent.
We will be back again.!!!!!!
Our dinner and wine were very enjoyable, as always. Service was exceptional. Our waiter, Steve, was very attentive and friendly. We were celebrating our anniversary and he helped make it a special evening.
Not impressed. I had wanted to try Tellers for years and finally had the opportunity to do so. The food was good, but we won't be returning. The tables are on top of one another. I could hear every word spoken of the person at the table next to me, but couldn't hear my own family at my table. Food was average for this type of restaurant. Prime in Huntington offers a MUCH better experience, even though the menus are similar.
The food was fantastic as usual but seating was very tight and it was so loud it was difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was excellent but slow. We ordered a couple of drinks and had to wait 10 minutes.
The food was very good, as always, but I try to go here at least once a month for their crew cocktail. It is a variation on a White Russian made with mint infused vodka. Sadly, this cocktail is no longer on the menu. Also no steamed clam or mussel option which is a minus. The steaks are always cooked exactly to temperature. I recommend the filet mignon beef Wellington if your not that hungry. If you haven’t eaten in a few days, get the prime rib, it’s bigger then my head and I have a pretty big head.
The seafood and steaks were extraordinary coupled with an incredibly knowledgeable staff made for an amazing experience
Great Anniversary dinner. We didn’t notify the restaurant before hand, at 51st we don’t need to be in a spotlight. But it was good and perfect evening.
Tough steaks and charred Brussel sprouts made it a meal to gorget
Our meal was delicious! From appetizers to desserts everything was perfect. Our waiter Steve was wonderful, service was excellent. The manager came to our table and wished my husband a Happy Birthday and gave him a complimentary $25 gift card! Just a great experience start to finish.
All the food was outstanding and our server, Joseph, was beyond attentive.
Beautiful decor. An old bank made into a restaurant. Unique experience with delcious food and exquisite drinks. Perfect night
Great food! Great service! The fixed price menu is so worth the money! Definitely would recommend!
Waiter very attentive and knowledgable
Food presentation and taste was perfect
overall great experience
menu had great variety
Went for wedding anniversary and they gave us complimentary ice cream and had happy anniversary written on the plate in chocolate syrup - nice touch!
Very good experience. Would definitely recommend
Never disappointed with the food and service. The setting and atmosphere are perfect. Would highly recommend.
From the welcoming at the reception desk, to the efficiency and attentiveness of our waiter, servers and bus staff the evening was perfect.
We have been to Tellers on numerous occasions. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Our latest visit was during restaurant week and we were shocked by the difference from our previous dining experiences there. Other than the martinis, everything was wrong. My wife’s surf & turf was tough with the lobster being over cooked and steak, ordered medium came to the table undercooked, at the raw end of rare. Her mashed potatoes were salty. My steak Wellington came over cooked, well done instead of the advertised medium rare. The restaurant was overcrowded, so in addition to being noisy, there was no intimacy as we could clearly hear the conversations at the tables beside us. A totally unsatisfying evening out, especially as we drove an hour to and from Tellers to have this dining experience.
Love to come to this restaurant. The branzino was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing and each staff person makes you feel special.
Highly recommend, excellent cut of meat. Staff was friendly and service was great.
Always great food and service!
Tellers is our go to for a special occasion or just a nice Saturday night. Always wonderful!
The bacon on the dinner fixed menu is not like the bacon slab...it is more like pulled pork. Its good but I expected a slab of bacon . Also, the word and turf price is higher than $49. It is $69 I believe. Shouldn't be on a fixed priced menu advertised as $49 per person. Overall, I think the tables are too close together where they had placed my son and I were when the customers left people butts were in our faces when they were leaving their table to exit. Service was great overall. Food was delicious. 3 1/2 out of 5. 1
Teller was amazing. Food was delicious, wine pairings were perfect and service was on point. Was a great evening, will definitely go back!!
Always a fine dining experience. Our waiter Steve is so informative & professional. Love this place. Dine here once a month & frequent the gold bar more often.
Delicious food. Good quality food. Delicious. Would love to eat there again.
My petite filet was Black and blue. I asked for medium cook. I sent back and received it back the same way. Very disappointed. It’s a steak house and a steak can’t be cooked as requested. Very sad!! Waiter was less than interested to make my experience a positive one.
Tellers Does Steak house experience to perfection. Everything from the impressive and evocative setting, the friendly greeting at the front desk, the beautiful hostesses who escort and seat all and
the waitstaff, who it is evident, loves providing the best service experience to match the unrivaled
talent of the kitchen staff who turns out plate after plate of perfectly cooked and plated delicious
it was my daughters' birthday and her first trip to Tellers. it will now be a Dad & Daughter tradition to
celebrate her birthday each year at Tellers!...and our waiter with the most bad-a$$ beard was a true gem of a Gentleman and watching him serve other tables was a pleasure to see a True Professional at work!
It was our anniversary. The food was amazing. My husband had the prime rib and I had the petite filet mignon both cooked to how we liked it. The scalloped potatoes were fantastic and nothing is better than the burnt broccoli. The waiter was attentive as were all the support staff.
