The black horse
Had a wonderful evening with friends.
The menu is a bit too fussy for me but what we had was lovely. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Definitely recommend it
I haven't eaten at the Black Horse, which is a lovely old Oxfordshire pub (lots of wood, old beams and fireplaces) in a long time but following a recommendation from a friend I thought I would give it a try. I received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to a table in the old dinning room with an open fire. During the conversation with my waiter I discovered that they have recruited the very highly rated local chef, Martin Sherriff, so before I had a bite I knew it was going to be good! And it was, the menu and selection of wines are extensive and I am sure there is something for everyone. The serving staff were very friendly and helpful. I just couldn't fault the whole experience. So a big thank you to Nick, Seb and all the staff I look forward to seeing you again very soon.
We had heard good reports of The Black Horse from friends and wanted to check it out at some point. An occasion arose and we booked and visited within the hour. We were very happy with all aspects of our visit and plan to go back soon and introduce other friends to the pub.
Excellent throughout from the welcome, service and food was top draw and all the guests left happy, excellent team performance
We as a family decided to go out for a meal so we thought we would go to a local pub.
We had heard it was under new management with a new chef and it was worth checking out!
I have to say I am very pleased we did, the food was excellent and the service was great.
We went for the steak deal where you get a steak with chips, salad and wine. The steak was cooked perfectly and I think the chips were honestly the best chips I have ever tasted.
Was well worth going, I am glad we did and I will be definitely going again!
Well done The Black Horse 5*
