The Brasserie Restaurant, located in the cozy vaulted cellars of Melville Castle with burgundy walls, a crackling fire, atmospheric lighting and candle lit tables offer a relaxing atmosphere for dining or even just a casual drink at the bar.

To complement your meal, our wonderful cellar offers an eclectic choice of wines from around the globe.

Described as: “Great food Fantastic hotel, so good to stay somewhere that doesn’t look like every other chain hotel you have ever stayed in!”

Opening from 18:00 until last orders at 21:00 and we do ask that you please book a table over busier periods to avoid disappointment.

                                                        Absolutely lovely. The food was incredible, the location was beautiful and the value was amazing for what we got. Highly recommend. And recommend staying at the hotel as well!

                                                        Food was excellent. Well presented and correct portion sizes. Service was efficient, attentive and friendly. Don't miss an after dinner drink in the bar!

                                                        The night we visited there were very few customers so presumably the kitchen was not overrun. Our food was very disappointing, the starter of haggis bonbons was not particularly warm and the Caesar salad was tasteless apart from the flavour from the smoked chicken. The steak was good but the gnocchi was tough and chewy and very obviously not homemade ( not that it claimed to be), most of it was left uneaten. The staff were excellent and very friendly.

                                                        Came here as visiting from Australia. Kids wanted to eat in a castle! Good food. We had to keep coats on as it was freezing cold, could have lit fire. 3 members of staff working, friendly but quite slow to requests, maybe as constantly chatting or looking at themselves in the mirror above cash register! Wouldn’t hurry back sorry.

                                                        The Brasserie was actually closed, despite having accepted a booking online, sent a reminder the day before my reservation and now asking me to review the brasserie.

                                                        Good food. The server is friendly and not stuffy. The castle and it’s grounds are beautiful. The restaurant is in the basement but well decorated. The bar and lounge area on the ground floor are beautiful. I would recommend planning a before or after dinner drink there.

                                                        What a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and professional especially Lewis. Overall a beautiful setting especially as we were staying in the Castle Suite for the night. A truly magical end to our wonderful Holiday to Scotland, incorporating The North Coast 500 road trip. Thank you
