Food was lovely but not piping hot when served. Coffee was lukewarm. I guess they were short staffed. Also a little disappointed as we had informed them it was my son’s birthday and there was no little gesture to make it special .

Salmon was good, vegetarian meal missing onion rings, realised afterwards. Serving staff very friendly. Long wait for top-up veg. Pricey for quality of food. Otherwise a nice evening.

The visit started by being shown to a table by the staff member. We were asked about which drinks wed like. My partner asked for archers and lemonade, readily available in most places, oh we don't have that, issues right off the bat. What would you like for your starter, prawns please, oh we don't have that, ok belly bites, sorry don't have that either. Ok we'll pass on starters. What would you like for mains, pork belly please for both of us, oh sorry we don't have that. At no point before ordering our drinks were we informed about missing items on the menu. We order the lamb, it arrives with huge carrots on a plate as big as a saucer, arrangement looked like a service at Toby carvery. Cauliflower cheese side with no serving spoon, then asked if wanted sauces, we replied with mint sauce please. The mint sauce also arrives with no spoon, and when we asked for one, instead of receiving a teaspoon we got a tablespoon. All in all a shocking visit. The former owner god rest her soul would be horrified.

Thoroughly recommend this pub for Sunday lunch. Portions were generous and the food was cooked perfectly. Service and food both excellent. My party chose the roast pork whereas I had the shoulder of the lamb from the specials menu. The lamb fell off the bone, it was cooked so well. Will definitely be going back.

Incredible night celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary, we haven’t visited the fountain since the new owners have been there but wanted to go back, from start to finish it was nothing but superb the food was incredible they really have kept the feel from the previous lovely owner who is sadly no longer here but also added some lovely new very welcome additions to the pub, but what stands out for me personally is the attentiveness the entire team give you, it truly is noticed so much and I hope and wish the new owners of the fountain many happy years there, we shall certainly be back very soon.

We had a lovely Sunday roast for 4. We’ve been for dinner during the week & preferred it. It was unfortunate that there was a very high volume family in at the same time on Sunday. The table wasn’t ready when we got there. We were 1 of at least 2 parties who asked to be moved away from the noisy family. I had to turn down my hearing aids it was so bad & my aunt was wincing at the noise. The staff moved us quickly after we asked which was much appreciated although I’m not sure why they were playing music quite loudly too. Anyway, we enjoyed the food & service & understand that it was busy & large parties probably spend more. We will go back for dinner & may check if there’s any large parties first.

A really welcoming place to spend the evening. The service was impeccable. Very attentive and informative staff. The food was super (I had the filet steak which was perfectly cooked. A fantastic selection of wines available to suit not palette and budget. I can highly recommend the Rioja Rosè. The custard portion with the apple crumble could have been a tad more generous for the price. We’ll definitely be returning

The food we ate was outstanding (Thank you to Jordon Masterchef contestant) the sauce on the chicken was amazing. There were six of us celebrating a birthday, we were not disappointed with the food, it was beautiful and very good value for money - thank you
