The Ivy Brasserie, Spinningfields
1st class Resturant
Visited the Ivy in London a few times.I live in Stockport and the Manchester Ivy I have now visited 3 time and find the food excellent choice and reasonable value.Service Very Very Good from when you enter the Ivy.
Only one criticism when you order fat chips there is always a lot of small well overcooked ones underneath the good ones at the top.Not to difficult to arrest this Chef
Fabulous time at the ivy Spinningfields on Sunday morning we where a table of 11 and where accommodated very well. Food was delicious and our server looked after us excellently.
Disappointed this weekend. Service really really bad. Couldn’t get drink from the bar and sat at table for over half an hour with no drinks order taken. Table late. Food was ok nothing to shout about. Staff just had too many tables to serve; not their fault. Been a few times but won’t be back. At £60 a head for a couple of courses and couple of drinks there’s much better places in mcr. The Ivy not living up to the hype.
I’ve been to the one in Covent Garden and Soho before. I’ve booked it for my birthday as a special treat. Wow absolutely amazing blown away straight away as you walk into the restaurant the door staff are so friendly we had a drink at the bar the service was really good.the music was really cool playing some really good tunes. The service was outstanding the food was amazing. It’s my new favourite place now I’m definitely going to be coming back a lot more.
Style over substance! A place to be seen, not necessarily for the food.
The bar area was busy with nowhere to sit, the bar is too small for the amount of diners wanting a pre dinner drink. Bar staff were rude and ignored us when we asked for a wine list. They didn’t even acknowledge a direct request for a cocktail. Was really noisy and not a dining experience I would want to repeat. The only good point was we had a really nice waiter and the manager acknowledged our disappointment with the bar staff. Won’t be going back it is just a chain restaurant like every other.
Absolutely had the best day! Amazing food! Amazing waiter! Alejandro couldn’t have done any more! He was grest! Can’t wait to return!
I want to thank everyone for the service at the Ivy Brasserie over the weekend. We had been saving to take her for a surprise celebratory afternoon tea and she was balled over by the service, atmosphere and 'special-ness' of the occasion. Thank you for making our perfect celebratory Birthday weekend!
Beautiful decor. They really focus on giving you an experience. Food was outstanding.
This place is fabulous we had pastries and great breakfast
Great evening very relaxed but lively - good food & wine
Food and service very good. Loud and unambient music from a DJ combined with overall noise made it impossible to have a conversation and completely ruined the evening.
We were a table of two placed between two quite large groups, our table was in extremely close proximity to both groups. The restaurant was very busy and loud and we found ourselves practically shouting across the table to each other.
Service was a little manic, there was an obvious push from the kitchen which meant that items were dropped and spilled to a cheering crowd who appeared to revel in the madness.
The food was fine, not exceptional.
The decor had a nod to the other Ivy restaurants we’ve visited.
The whole experience was a little underwhelming, glad we’ve been, but we will probably not go again.
Nice afternoon tea. A little light on the savoury & heave in the sweet but nice all the same
I booked this for my mums 60th birthday. She had a fabulous time and felt like a queen for the day thanks to all the staff
There are plenty of waiters rushing around and the service was excellent. The food was delicious, especially the blackened cod fillet, and the chocolate bombe was amazing. Tables are quite close together and the Brasserie is pretty noisy (Friday afternoon). All in all, a great experience and perfect for a special occasion.
Was served with the wrong main course and then charged twice for it! This was my first visit to the Ivy and so far I’m not impressed!
Very good all round - the tables are a little bit squashed up so you’re almost sitting on top of the next table but that’s it really.
Excellent food at a reasonable price. Music to loud, have to shout to have a conversation. Overall experience was good.
Went for dinner for 2 on Thursday evening. Very busy, vibrant atmosphere.
Service attentive but not too obtrusive & did not feel rushed.
Plenty of choice on menu - plates beautifully presented & hot. Not the cheapest place for dinner but worth the extra ££.
Only thing that we didn’t like was the loud music.
Will be going back.
Absolutely fabulous! Great food and service in a spectacular setting!
Our first visit, myself and 5 female friends. Will be visiting again.
Up on our arrival, The reception staff who looked at us like we’d walked through the wrong door, not a smile between them and far too much highlighter. Never felt so unwelcome before.
Our meal was what it is expect, a well cooked meal presented well.
Unfortunately, our waiter got our bill wrong. We had over payed which he had noticed. He said we could get a refund but we’d need to wait for his manager to refund about 15-20 mins. We sat for 10 mins finishing our drinks. After asking again I asked the waiter to sort the bill he said his manager would still be 15- 20 mins! As it was lunch we were on a time limit we needed to leave. We informed our waiter we needed to leave.......So the tip we left after the service charge on the bill, the tip in cash we left plus the over payed bill it was a tidy £43 tip.
I felt it was poor service at a restaurant trading on its flagships name. Next time I’m in Manchester I’ll definitely got back to tattu!
We liked the atmosphere and the surroundings were lovely. Food was great, we particularly enjoyed our main, I had the salmon and my partner had steak and egg. The chocolate bomb dessert was amazing! If we were to be negative about the price of the drinks. We were happy to pay the 12.5 per cent service charge but only if the whole of this goes directly to the staff and not used in any other way, especially to subsidise their wages?
Much too expensive. One course for 4 people does not justify £138 bill
Excellent food and service, Great ambience From the front of house staff to the waiting on staff great afternoon
Fabulous decor, friendly staff at front of house. Great cocktails in Ivy Asia, food was exceptional.
Had a very enjoyable birthday lunch. It was our first time at the Ivy and will be definitely returning, we were all well impressed.Everything was perfect, the food, drinks(although a little on the expensive side), the staff were very attentive and the whole ambience was first class
Went for my birthday and everything was perfect. The food was delicious with big portions. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Definitely going back again.
The food took an unacceptable time to arrive and when it did it was cold. The chicken looked unappealing and was very dry.
We are regular users of The Ivy in Soho and didn’t feel that your restaurant compared in any way to the food and service there.
The noise level was horrendous and not conducive to enjoying a meal. We spent the meal shouting at each other and saying “eh!” However, it appealed to the younger members of our party. The low light levels made reading the menus almost impossible- we noted many people were illuminating them with their iPhones. There is obviously the assumption that vegetarians eat a lot of carrots, judging by the size of the lettering on the vegetarian menu. It was very expensive for a less than positive evening meal. We ate at The Ivy, Leeds, earlier in the month and found that a much more enjoyable experience.
Service was abysmal. Our waiter was not very efficient or attentive . We had to ask other staff for menus drinks and chase up our entire meal!
I booked a table for my husbands birthday on the 20th March.
As we for there the service was fantastic however, they got our order wrong. The waiter brought to completely different meals to what we ordered. Eventually a waiter came and explained he had given us the wrong food. I wanted to change it but then another member of staff came over and made us feel bad about thinking of changing it back to our original order.
Me and my husband ate it but wasn’t happy as we ordered and expected something else.
The restaurant was also VERY noisy to the point that we tried to get the attention of a waiter when our food came and they couldn’t hear us.
If someone could get back to me regarding this
Visited for our wedding anniversary meal and was fabulous great food & drinks plus great service and not as expensive as I’d expected will be back for sure !!!!
Wonderful lunch at the Ivy - lovely food, beautiful decor and attentive, friendly staff! My friend & I had a really lovely time & can’t wait to go back 😊
Amazing food once again for our daughters 18th birthday!!! Excellent table arranged by Laura.....can’t wait to go back!!!!!
We had a party of 10 on a Tuesday night dining at the Ivy. We were very disappointed in the level of Service but the waiters, food quality was very poor - Food had to be sent back to kitchen for being cold. The ivy lost out on money from us due to service being poor, we finished our main meal and left due to having to wait over half an hour for drinks to arrive. For such a top quality restaurant it was very disappointing and we will not be returning.
Me and my husband attended for a meal for my birthday. The actual setting is lovely. Very pretty decor and the ambient.
The staff are extremely attentive and could be do more for us. All the service was spot on.
Our real issue was with the food. Our started were lovely, the prawn cocktail in particular, is very tasty. Unfortunately the main course was disappointing. My husband orders the lobster. At £35, he expected it to be decent. However it wasn’t. The meat was extremely chewy and was completely over cooked. To add insult to injury, the lobster was also cold. I ordered the shepherds pie, which was very tasty but the portion size was very small for a main course dish and comes with no side orders what so ever. Again for a £14 main dish (not expensive I know) but still would expect more than a palm sized portion of pie.
Overall we wouldn’t go again for an evening meal. It seems it’s a better location for a nice lunch or drinks. Still glad we’ve been and experienced it.
The sandwiches on the afternoon tea were left wanting. Also, the service is better at the harrogate ivy, I expect consistency. Otherwise it was a lovely meal.
