The Ivy Brasserie, Spinningfields
This is the second time that we have been to The Ivy Brasserie; today was to celebrate our civil wedding. The food is great, but the staff are really amazing. When the music was too loud they got the DJ to turn it down slightly, they found us a great table with plenty of room for my baby’s pram, service was fast, our waiter took the time to say goodbye to us when he ended his shift and introduced us to the next waiter, and the doorman was very friendly. The staff made us feel very comfortable and we had a lovely experience.
We're regular visitors to The Ivy chain brasserie. Recently visited York, Bath, Harrogate and Manchester. The DJ at Manchester is a bit too loud for a pleasant dining experience and our party had to shout to be heard across the table. His choice of club dance music before 8pm doesn't really fit with the ambience of a fine dining restaurant.
Love the decor. It really is a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere and ambience. Great food . The olives were a very tasty start. Our mains of Keralan chicken curry and blackened cod were fab and to top it off great service.
Table in a very poor position. Felt like we were put in a corner. Just behind waiters service desk. Had someone’s child’s pram parked next to our table until I asked for it to be moved. Very disappointing experience for a special celebration of my sons birthday and masters. Food was very good as was our waitress.
Had an amazing time!! The atmosphere was great and the food was absolutely delicious - will most definitely be coming back and have recommended to everyone x
We were celebrating our daughters graduation day and wanted somewhere special to celebrate with her. We were not disappointed. We had a very enjoyable afternoon thank you.
The waitress was excellent. But the wait for the food just wasn’t funny - over an hour between finishing starter and receiving main course isn’t great.
The table wasn’t big enough for 5. And had a ridiculous wobble (8mm). That’s an easy problem to fix, so why can’t it be dealt with?
The food was good, but overall it wasn’t a great experience.
Waiters were amazing and the atmosphere was great
Had to wait at least 30 mins from being sat down to being asked for a drink. Starters arrived before drinks
We were there to celebrate our sons graduation and it certainly lived up to our expectations!!The service from Sylvester was outstanding and the food amazing.
Waited an hour for a table despite prebooking. Steak was overcooked, chicken obviously reheated straight from the fridge. You'd expect an expensive meal to be better than you could make at home! On the plus side the dessert was excellent and the waiter great too.
Food was lovely, ordered some salads to start, fish mains, and some gin cocktails.
My only negative is about the clothing of the waiting on staff, every single one of them had dirty trousers on, a bit of a put off when they're serving your food then wiping their hand on the back of their trousers, may be aprons would work better instead of waistcoat and jackets. Would visit again.
Excellent meal and as always attentive staff ready to meet all our needs
Everything about The Ivy squeals excellence. The decor, the uniforms, the friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff, the extensive choice of drinks and the top notch food. Love it and highly recommend it
Lovely meal for my daughter's Graduation. We had read some reviews that were not good before we arrived, however we had nothing to worry about. Yes it's expensive but you expect that. It's a lovely settings and we enjoyed our afternoon
Great experience. The staff in the restaurant and bars were outstanding.
Very pleasant lazy lunch lovely food nice wine only comment 2 of the wines we asked for were out of stock but otherwise excellent
Whilst the atmosphere and whole aesthetics of the environment were top class the food and service left a little to be desired.
I opted for the simple Fish and Chips, however it was more of just batter and chips whereby the batter was to the point of being impossible to get a nice through and once inside the batter barely any fish at all leaving me feel disappointed. Also may only seem small but my wife’s drink arrived with the requested ice and when we asked for the ice it took an awfully long time to arrive. It’s a shame as the place is beautiful and I am sure in the future we will give it another go but sadly I left feeling disappointed on this occasion.
The ivy is one of those venues you go to for
The Instagram clout, food and service isn’t the best , I got the steak which is usually an easy option, I’ve had nicer steak from m and s. Over all the food wasn’t that great , I probably wouldn’t return
An enjoyable experience, with good food, and not over-priced. The ambience was excellent and individual. The only slight negative was that the food was not quite as hot as I would have liked.
Food was excellent, service made the evening, a properly enjoyable experience
I would recommend for drinks, it’s a beautiful bar/building with a nice ambience. The biggest let down was the food, poor quality and over priced. Service could have been better as well.
Everyone was dressed to impress, even the staff. A very special experience.
It will be a while before I go to The Ivy again. Booked a table for my husbands birthday; had to send main course back twice because it was not cooked to specification and blatant errors on the bill. Restaurant team not engaged or seem to care. Bar staff brilliant.
Stunning setting for a traditional afternoon lunch. The quality of the food for the set menu was excellent if a little simple.
Fantastic and query venue. Very stylish interior in all areas and different character to each floor. We were celebrating my son’s graduation with an afternoon tea which was lovely. We had three standard teas and two vegetarian - all were nicely presented. Service was good from very stylish waiters and waitresses. Will definitely be going again.
Steak served undercooked and cold then second steak still undercooked
Whilst the service manager was apologetic and offered a beverage and dessert free of charge the fact I had to eat alone because my family had already finished by the time my steak arrived second time kind of spoiled the occasion
The setting and food was superb.
However I had stated when booking on line that it was a treat for my sister’s birthday and when ‘checking in’ the girl inferred there would be a sweet treat. It never again and couldn’t ask as sister sat there. My drink was on the rocks but was in fact on icebergs!! Consequently when I removed them there was literally a finger of actually drink for nearly £10!! Annoyed with myself for not realising the 12.5% service charge was automatically included as would not pay that ....already paying top prices AND can’t serve myself. Not overly impressed
Had a lovely family dinner. Good food choice all arrived perfectly cooked. Really friendly service. Would definitely return.
Dissapointed that our table request wasn’t accomdated, despite a table of the type we wanted being right next to ours! And it was free even after we left.
Very welcoming and friendly staff
Made me feel special as the meal was for celebrating my graduation that day
Nice but expensive so good for a special occasion.
This was my second visit, sat in the brasserie. Our waiter was superb. Food delicious with a good choice of vegetarian options.
Will be going back again soon
For a drink maybe, I found it overly priced, the tables were too close together, the waiter was too attentive and the noise level Was loud because everyone was so close for a high end restaurant there was no intimacy with my husband it was a lot of money and I was really looking forward to this as a treat but we both left disappointed we wouldn’t go to the Brasserie again. It looks lovely but it was all in all disappointing.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices x
We had a meal with you for my wife’s 50 birthday and in truth all was going well until her food arrived .
Her steak was cooked well as requested but the sauce which covered the steak was so salty that she had to leave it .
Our waitress never came over to enquire how are meal was but only after my wife had been sat waiting for fifteen mins with a plate full of uneaten steak .
My wife explained to the waitress that the meal was not edible so after speaking with her manager we were offered a complimentary tea or coffee which after further conversation moved to a complimentary desert.
In the end we had to refuse to pay for her steak but paid for all other food and drink consumed .
In short not a great eating experience which somewhat took the edge of the occasion .
Birthday for my dad. Had time to go to the roof garden, we weren’t rushed at our table and the server was great
Had a fabulous early dinner with family in the Brasserie. Would highly recommend it!
I had a great time at The Ivy celebrating my friends birthday. The atmosphere was relaxed and unpretentious but the service was impeccable. The food could not be faulted and the waiter recommended a lovely wine to compliment our food. The mini birthday tart they supplied was beautiful and much appreciated. Would definitely return here anytime.
Our third visit to the Ivy and again absolutely no complaints.
We turned up an hour early so had drinks at the bar and were shown to our table at The allocated time.
Service and food both splendid.
The team do really well in a very busy dining room .
