    Two out of three diners at my table enjoyed their food. I had a poor experience. On a heatwave day I ordered pea soup assuming this would be chilled. Neither the menu nor the server taking the order warned me that the soup would arrive (very) hot: not what I’d expected or wanted. The main of chicken salad arrived as a circular plate with each ingredient separately in its triangular wedge, like a dog’s dinner to be honest, including bacon that looked raw (I didn't dare try it). This truly unappealing dish bore no relation to a salad as normally conceived in England. I complained to a server who took my point but didn’t ask if I wanted something else instead. No charm offensive by a manager or anyone else. I wasn’t charged, that was all. I booked the Harrogate Ivy as dependable based on many Ivy meals from Brighton to Newcastle and including the original London Ivy. For me the shine’s completely gone off the brand. The worst meal out I’ve had for ages I’m sorry to say and I couldn’t possibly recommend this particular Ivy to anyone.

It is disappointing that staff did not offer an alternative or a manager check‑in.     Outstanding vegan meals,beautifully presented. There is a separate vegetarian/vegan menu👍. Salads, a burger and a curry to choose from for main course. For starters there were a few salads to choose from- no complaint here - it is the Summer menu after all. What may initially seem as a lack of originality in vegan offerings was more than made up for in taste! Professional, friendly waitstaff. Unobtrusive but always available - with a smile😊. I can’t wait to go back!

    From the minute we entered the establishment we were attended to by all staff with pure courteousness. Waiting staff were knowledgeable about the wine and foods being presented on the menu when asked for advice. We were offered time to select our mains as we were unsure after starters. When a change over of staff happened during the meal, the original waiter wished us an enjoyable evening, which I found thoughtful of him. All staff presented well, smart dress stood out! All of our food was presented to a high standard and cooked to perfection. Personal touches included a small treat on the house to celebrate my birthday. Overall a quality, relaxing and throughly enjoyable evening. Thank you The Ivy Harrogate you did not disappoint.

    A bright beautifully decorated restaurant. Excellent service from very professional waiter. Main courses good value and the sweets superb - top marks for the flambé crème brûlée. Well worth a visit.
