This local community pub is run by a professional manager and lovely staff. Because it was so crammed the ambiance was spoilt as it was very noisy. My food had to be warmed up but my friends was ok. I will give it another try but not on a Sunday.

Great food as usual. A very broad menu with lots of choices from vegetarian to steak, pies are great too as is fish and chips!

We were a party of 4 celebrating my wife and myself 53rd Anniversary We checked the menu before going to the Lion, and were looking forward to steak and pies. When we were given the menu we noticed there was no steak or pies on the menu. Instead we were shown a depleted one, and on speaking to the staff we were told the menu is different on certain days. Why was this not displayed on their website. In the end we settled on Ham egg and chips. Not what we wanted on our Anniversary.

What a gem of a pub. We have been going in and off for years. We always loved that it sold a decent beer. (Real ale) and so were excited by the beer festival. Not a bad try for beginners but a bit cheeky to advertise so many beers and only have 1/3rd of them on at a time. Still not bad. Food is top notch. Great chef. Music was way too loud and too long. It needed to be a notch quieter for the age of the customers and have three breaks. At one point we had to sit and not talk at all wishing for it to be over. Staff are lovely and caring. They should make more of the community owned thing. That will make me go more. They should also support TFA by having their beer as a permanent. They share a common goal to make sure good things are not lost.
