   Pleasant attentive service. Lovely meals, large portions and an awareness of the requirements of a gluten free diet. We couldn’t fault it.

   It as a busy Mothering Sunday afternoon so quite busy with a lot of children, though generally well behaved the noise level was inevitably higher. That said, the food was delicious (if more than we could eat) and staff were friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to go back

   Felt service was quite rushed, waiter was in such a hurry he didn’t listen and muddled starters and a desert was incorrect. I understand it was busy but when I was waiting at bar to pay bill, same waiter came along and told me it was table service, I requested to pay the bill and he asked where I was sitting, I told him the table (right in front of the bar of whom he’d been serving for the last 2 hours). Food looked lovely but brisket roast I had wasn’t as tasty as it looked, was all a little on bland side. Deserts were very small portions ( brownie & apricot bread & butter pudding) compared to cheesecake and I specifically opted for cream and got ice-cream. Sadly there was an unpleasant odour coming from gentleman’s toilet after a child came out, luckily someone shut the door which helped but wasn’t very pleasant.

   First time going to the Mendip Inn - we took my mother for Mother's day - enjoyed the complimentary prosecco. Our server was a lovely young lady, very professional and friendly. Food was plentiful - too much actually! Would recommend and would like to eat in the pub area next time to try that out.

   Service was slow as was very busy, ordered the beef bourginion but was mainly just mushrooms as probably end of the pot, did mention this and was given a free dessert which was nice but a shame as the food is normally excellent but felt too much for staff to handle. We had booked a table but were delayed ordering food as kitchen was too busy - worry that the pub accept more bookings than they can manage and the service suffers.

    Was way busier than expected! So that must mean they are good yeh?!! Had a good feel to the place. Had a bit of a wait for our starter, but was defo worth the wait! The food was flavoursome and plentiful and great value for money! I'm already thinking about what to have next time! Overall I would defo recommend, even if there is a bit of a wait, you just get to enjoy the atmosphere that bit more! Staff were obvs busy but all were friendly and professional! Great date night! Thanks everyone

    The food at the Mendip Inn was really good, unfortunately the same can not be said about the service. On arrival at the Mendip Inn we were greeted by a waitress stood at terminal who then proceeded to take us to the bar to book in, once booked in we were informed that our table was to the end of the bar behind a pillar and left to find it ourselves. We were greeted by another waitress who brought us the menu and took our drinks order, the drinks were delivered and we placed our order for our starters and main meal. It wasn’t too long before our starter’s arrived which were very nice, once finished our plates were cleared and the wait the began about 50 minutes later we got the attention of a waitress to ask for some water and inquire about our meal she said she would go and check. Another waitress then turned up with a glass of water plonked it on the table making a splash and then turned and left with out a word of apology, then the the other waitress came back and informed us that our meals would be next ( we had been completely forgotten about as there was another couple behind us who were showed to their seats had their drinks and meals paid and left before ours arrived) the meals eventually turned up after a wait of 1 hour 10 minutes. The food that arrived was very nice but once finished the wait began again for our plates to be cleared, to my left there was a waitress cleaning and seeing to some tables but showed no interest in seeing to us at all eventually a chap turned up and cleared our plates and asked us if we would like to see the dessert menu. We decided to brave it and order dessert which didn’t take too long to arrive a result. We chose the Mendip Inn to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary which was spoiled by the service we received, we should have looked at the reviews before we booked as it seems to be a recurring issue and no lessons are being learned.

    Staff could have been quicker , more sociable and generally didn’t seem to want to be there ..not happy or attentive. Food was good but slow again no apology for this

    Went to the bar to get a drink and was told it was table service only. Sat down and waited 25 mins before anyone came to the table to take a drinks order let alone a food order. Service extremely poor.

    There were 10 of us for lunch and we enjoyed the food and the ambiance and the service from the gentleman was excellent. It however was spoiled at the end by a very confrontational lady behind the bar. I forgot to pay for my tea - genuine mistake later rectified / but the last person who paid for her lunch was told by the barmaid that she would have to pay the outstanding £2.50p or she couldn’t leave!!! Quite unacceptable behaviour

    Lovley food and lovley atmosphere. One thing I do love with a roast is cauliflower cheese and this doesn't have that. Can't fault the food other than I really wanted the cheese!!

    As always food was excellent. Staff very welcoming. We brought two dogs who were made very welcome. A fantastic selection of dishes - meat, fish and vegetarian. Definitely will eat there again.

    I can’t say anything but outstanding food, staff were so polite and nothing was too much trouble, ambience was lovely, although got a little noisy when the bigger parties arrived. Thankyou for a fantastic meal though!

    We really enjoyed our vegan burgers, which I would say is a good test of a chef's skill. The service was friendly and responsive. Recommended, especially for large groups.

    Despite its location on the busy A37, the pub is quiet, warm and welcoming inside. The Sunday lunch portions are very generous and very nicely cooked with a good choice. Prices very reasonable too. Overall a good choice

    We had a excellent Christmas meal in January as we had to keep postponing due to illness, They were so accommodating and never made us feel we were being a pain , ( we postponed I think 4 times !!!) It was well worth the wait , the food was excellent ,as always and even though there was only one member of staff , he was extremely attentive , and nothing was to much trouble, Excellent
