Classic Irish cuisine from Chef Sean Smith in the Kildare countryside.

Sean’s mouth-watering new menu is as always sourced locally with some ingredients even grown on the very grounds of the Cliff at Lyons Estate. Food lovers will enjoy classics such as Roast Rib of Beef, Cherry Valley Duck Breast and Oven Baked Baby Turbot with sides of seasonal vegetables, mini Seafood platters and of course for something a bit sweet, Whiskey & Orange Ice Cream or Chocolate Fondant with Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

Shackleton Mill restaurant is the heart of Cliff at Lyons, with striking double-height ceilings, warm open fire and windows that open up to a terrace beside the mill race and waterfall. Here, you will find a relaxed style of dining where it is easy to enjoy a lunch or dinner with friends or family. The illuminated waterfall provides a unique back drop to this airy and spacious room.

Food was lovely but we went for main course and dessert. We were given lovely fresh bread but our main course was brought just as we started eating the bread. Plates then left on table for ages while we waited to order dessert. Same happened when finished dessert so we decided not to have coffee. Had to ask for bill 3 times - 3 different people.

Food very good. Server not well trained- not able to give us basic information on menu. During the meal nobody came to ask us if everything ok and if we were enjoying our meal

Great setting if you ask for a window seat .. waterfall and views .. food was amazing .. and sitting upstairs afterwards for a drink was super relaxed ..

Really disappointing experience with sub-par food, awful service and so not worth the high cost. Ruined a special birthday meal. Avoid!
