   We had a set menu for Valentines day @£45pp. Food was fantastic maybe a bit expensive. Restaurant is open to General public, but is part of a retirement village. But apart from that we would go again.

   Venue scenery fabulous, interior beautiful, the food was great & the bill even better. Definitely return although it’s set in a retirement village it didn’t put us off, met a lovely lady (Mary) but again 10/10 from us

   Such a shame that we didn’t know this beautiful place was part of a retired/old folks home. We were the youngest there by about 30 years. There was no atmosphere as we were nearly the only people eating there apart from a few couples outside. Really not what we were expecting. A disappointing evening. The food was nice but nothing special considering the cost. But at least we have had a funny story to tell our friends. Stunning location and interior, But hardly anyone about to enjoy it. 😔

   Beautiful location, high quality furnishings in the restaurant and excellent choice of dining options. Food high quality and good size portions offering excellent choices for vegetarians and other dietary restrictions. Attentive service from staff with a friendly attitude.

   I booked the Valentine’s afternoon tea via Open Table, the menu sounded nice and the pictures looked great so thought it would be a good place for a lazy Sunday Valentine’s celebration. Upon arrival we were told that on Sundays they don’t do afternoon tea and certainly not the special Valentine’s menu we’d been expecting. Luckily the wait staff and chef were very accommodating and we were served a tasty selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes, though not the ones on the Valentine’s menu and we weren’t offered the Prosecco option. Overall the building and restaurant are nicely furnished and decorated with a luxe style in a muted palette, if a little lacking in ambiance as it wasn’t very busy and there was no-one playing the piano (there was some music being played quietly). We found we couldn’t help but listen to other loud conversations in the room which was a bit of a distraction. Staff were all lovely and very friendly but not intrusive. Overall if we were to go again we’d look on their website to check what’s on offer as via Open Table it wasn’t listed correctly.

    Lovely from start to finish the greeting was excellent being shown to our table and being seated we were made to feel welcome. The service was excellent by all and a big thank you from us. Food was well presented and cooked as required as we both had Steaks. We have marked the place as noisy but we was warned about this and also contacted on the Evening that`s good Customer Service not everyone likes noise when dining out. Once again thank you for a nice Evening out and please pass on our remarks to everyone involved that made that possible We will return

    Restaurant is in a private retirement home, open table bookings go to management office not the restaurant so no booking and restaurant was full with residents. Had to sit in the bat area. It was a Sunday carvery as booked but not as we thought a carvery would be. Very misleading on open table.

    A little bit disappointed, I thought that it was choice of dinner,with waiter service,but it was carvery which I would and my guests,have liked something different. The occasion was for a special birthday, so just a little disappointed

    On arrival we were served drinks on the terrace overlooking the croquet lawn surrounded by gorgeous gardens. Beautiful relaxed setting,friendly staff(without being intrusive )We had afternoon tea that was presented beautifully with an amazing selection of dainty sandwiches and cakes ,endless pots of tea served on lovely white china,highly recommend it.

    Great menu with a wide variety of dishes from light bites through to fabulous main dishes. I had the Brie wedges with sweet chilli dip followed by the duck breast . Great wine list too.. also noted a wide gin selection which will be great for drinks out with the girls .. recommend this hidden gem. Will be back with friends and family
