The entire family is sure to enjoy Savannah's most intriguing & historic restaurant. At the Pirates' House, our most precious treasure is the food. Situated in Trustees Garden, merely a scant block from the Savannah River, the Famous Pirates' House is the most historic spot in Georgia. The Herb House, erected in 1734, located inside the Pirates' House, is said to be the oldest house in Georgia. The Pirates' House first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and fast became a meeting point for blood-thirsty pirates & sailors. Parking on site.

    Join us on Thursday November 26, 2026 for our annual Pirates House Thanksgiving Day Grand Buffet from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Our buffet will feature assorted breads and salads, southern style side dishes, brunch items, a carving station to include Prime Rib, Honey Glazed Ham and Shrimp & Grits plus a large variety of seafood options along with ample dessert choices. NOTE: There will be no regular menu service this day. Our last seating during the Grand Buffet will be at 7:00 PM,

    I had shrimp and grits, the best I’ve ever had. My husband had fried grouper and he said it was excellent. We had the crab hush puppies and they were very good. We recommend trying them when you’re in town. Extremely nice waiter too, very friendly and helpful,

    Our server was knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant but not very attentive to our needs. Large parties seated in a small area made the dining experience kinda miserable.

    We dined late on a Sunday evening, and having prior experience elsewhere with restaurants toward closing time, we were pleased that the food (the snapper for me, a wedge salad for my wife) was quite good, properly cooked, and well presented, so kudos to the kitchen for keeping up the quality even when you're tired and ready to go home. Don't understand the pirate theme or the paper placements with one side featuring puzzles and pirate facts for children. Who brings a kid to a place that charges $40 / plate and has no children's menu? But that's their choice for the theme, and although it didn't distract from our dinner, it was odd to find in a restaurant of this caliber. Service was very good as well, although it took quite a while to get a glass of wine.

    The food and the service was great. I would have given full stars, but we were put in a room that felt like banquet seating. Their was little ambiance and almost no character. I was sad about being put into this room because I was trying to impress my friends and the restaurant fell short of my expectations.
