I’ve eaten here veggie here before and enjoyed but the two veggie dishes were odd and dry. It’s also just too loud and I’d forgotten that. Probably won’t come again
Food was on the pricey side but quality was good.
Lovely atmosphere and service was good
Recommended by some of the wife’s friends. We booked on the day and arrived a few hours later. Lovely ambience, a real homely/farmstead feel to the place. The food was great as was the service.
Chef altered menu for me and gave me exactly what I asked for without any problem. Very much appreciated and the meal “hit the spot”.
Great food and service. A little noisy on this visit but doesn't put me off as it is a great location.
Been here a few times now and every time it’s great. Food is amazing and staff are so nice. Asked for a photo of us tha was no problem and bought us extra gravy at no charge. Lovely atmosphere and all round great afternoon, wouldn’t change a thing 👍🏻
Lovely and friendly service we got there slightly early but this was not a Robles we were shown to our table and not rushed. Food was excellent
Lovely place, was my first visit for a friend's birthday lunch, but would definitely go again. Looks great from outside with a huge garden and is even nicer once you go inside. A laid back casual feeling and staff were really friendly. Food was lovely and not over priced with good choice. Really enjoyed it and will go again as want to try one of the pizzas from the pizza oven which looked amazing!
Excellent as usual
A great place to me up over breakfast. Will definitely be back
Asked for a bottle of beer and was given a pint, linguine was swimming in oil, chicken kebab had a bizarre selection of beans and burnt pineapple. Will not eat here again
Booked here for Valentine's on the recommendation of a friend and it was fantastic, great food, excellent service (not constantly interrupting just let you enjoy your meal), slight mix-up with one of the orders but they sorted in it quickly and were very apologetic. Really made an effort on the ambiance and decor for the occasion, would definitely go back again.
Spent valentines here. Lovely food and great service
Very nice special Valentine’s evening with excellent food . Thank you for a lovely evening.
I regularly meet friends and have a lovely breakfast there.
Booked an early dinner as a test for my 6 year old granddaughter. She was made a huge fuss of and given a sheepskin rug for her chair. Great food with huge children’s portions
A very warm and friendly place to catch with friends over breakfast. Extremely good value for money.
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. Perfect for a catch up with friends or for a special occasion.
Will be booking for another visit very soon
Although my wife has visited before this was my first visit to The potting shed. This is an old pub that has been extended and converted into a modern and wonderful eating and socilaising venue with a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent but the staff (of which there was plenty) are superb!
Will return perhaps in the summer for a burger from the shack!
I would normally have recommended the potting shed to a friend as I have had excellent experiences here in the recent past. This time however I was disappointed. My partner ordered from the specials menu Rye bay cod fillet with smashed new potatoes and tender stem broccoli. When it arrived at table it was totally different . Instead of what was advertised it came with pasta and cauliflower. Nothing had been said regarding the switch either before or after it was served. I had the chicken kebab which was also disappointing ......so going by our experience on this occasion......No I would not recommend this venue on this occasion although service was excellent as usual, the staff friendly and attentive, the ambience was great. Just let down by the food on this occasion
Probably would recommend. Food is very good, very friendly and very good service. My only complaint is the noise level and the fact that it is difficult to have a conversation especially as my husband is hard of hearing and suffers with tinitus.
Lovely setting, very relaxed with a happy atmosphere. Food was great as was the service. We were not rushed at all and were left to sit and enjoy our chat and coffee. Will definitely return again for brunch.
Always a good venue especially with friends and family. Can be a bit crampt in the old part of the pub when dining.
Food was amazing.
We've been here 3 times, this time was a Thursday night in early February so it really wasn't that busy. On our previous visits which have been at a 'better' time of year, it was buzzing. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table which was along the edge of the restaurant. Drinks were served promptly and they had a good choice of Gins and the right tonic as well! We elected to have a quick supper, just a main course and a pud and The Potting Shed did not disappoint. Service was very fast and the food although not outstanding was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed my pud which was Rhubarb and Apple Crumble with custard (marvellous...). For our main course, my wife had the Scallops which she said were excellent. I had the filet of Sea Bass which had a very good crispy skin and the whole dish tasted good but I felt was missing something - maybe a sauce or something but to be fair we were offered sauces at the outset but I couldn't decide at that stage whether I needed one or not. On reflection, some mayonnaise might have been a good idea. All in all though a very pleasant visit to this place and we'll be back.
A very enjoyable evening, good service and pleasant food
We have had fish and chips 3 times now and each time they have been superb. The staff are really friendly. We will be back.
An amazing gem of a restaurant in the Kent countryside, a must go for that special occasion
Excellent food and menu choices, particularly loved the pulled pork croquettes, absolutely delicious
Fabulous venue - but I don’t want to tell any more people about it because it’s already very busy!!! And essential to book.
Lovely food and great waiting staff who are knowledgeable about the menu.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.
So long as you don’t mind the general hubub. If you like a quiet restaurant this probably isn’t for you.
Birthday although we didn’t openly celebrate it whilst we were there. P
Amazing food. Amazing staff
The ambience was brilliant, it felt like you had lots of space and there are some very nice touches that keep you looking all around you. The service was very attentive without being in your face. Of the 2 meals we ordered, I cannot find any fault in mine, having the croquet for starter and fillet for main, however my wife was disappointed with her kebab as it was over seasoned and became inedible.
We were recommended the Potting shed by a friend who knows we like good food, so we were expecting something quite nice, but it’s actually more like an upmarket harvester or brewers Fayre. It’s a large restaurant so they need to cater to the majority I suppose but I found the menu a bit dull, and the food, while the portions were substantial, wasn’t anything special. My wife had the game pie but it had no gravy or sauce in it so it was too dry to finish, I had the fillet steak but it wasn’t anything special. Not worth the trip if you like good fresh food, but hits the spot if you just fancy eating out instead of cooking I suppose. I can’t fault the service though, the staff were attentive but not obtrusive, just right.
Very relaxing atmosphere, food was amazing. Friendly service.
Pleasant staff on arrival, quick and friendly service, delicious food and good value
Chilly by the window. Some meals were nicer than others but overall it was a nice evening
Amazing food lovely atmosphere environment and very pleasant staff! Highly recommended!
Great service and breakfast, first time we have had breakfast there although have eaten in the evening, will definitely go again and recommend. Thank you x
