The Rooftop at The Cape a Thompson Hotel
Amazing atmosphere and fantastic views. Food is small plates and excellent!
More of a club than a restaurant. Limited menu.
We had a terrible waiter. 4 of us, ordered drinks, ha asked us if we wanted food and we said maybe later. We literally never saw him again. Two larger parties came in and he spent the rest of the evening with them. We finished our drinks, were enjoying the band, decided to have another round and order some appetizers. Could not find our waiter- he walked by once but ignored us. After 15 minutes ( my son timed it) we asked another waiter to ask our server to bring us the bill. He walked by and handed it to us on his way to another table. We left and went over to the Mona Lisa.
The service was outstanding and the view was spectacular. We enjoyed the live music and appreciated the offer of serapes to keep us warm. Our only complaint is the price of two drinks and three small portion appetizers. Bill was $110.00 including tip.
I am the owner of a luxury travel company. I was told to have dinner at the Cape. We had an early reservation at 7:15. They ran out of food. We had to eat what they had left. Cheese.
The band was fabulous. The rooftop gorgeous. Couldn’t wait to leave to eat.
You cannot beat the sunset view of lands end. It is more of a rooftop bar than a restaurant. Their small plates were delicious.
Terrific place to grab ad drink with family and/or friends. Great setting, amazing views of the sunset and Los Cabos. We were there two nights and great live music playing. Smoking is allowed on the rooftop and plenty of people take advantage of that (we don't smoke, so it was a little annoying). Will definitely go back!
if you are in Cabo....it is a MUST!!!
Fabulous Sunset and ambience! Music was amazing and stayed so long that we ended up having light dinner. The tuna taquitos as well as the steak and crab taquitos were delicious! The servers were very attentive and tended to our every need. Can’t wait to go back tonight!
Great band, finished too early.
Best views in Cabo. Outstanding in every way.
Beautiful spot, great service and the music was incredible.
The view is amazing and the drinks and apps very good. The waitstaff very friendly but not especially attentive. We had to find them and ask them to wait on us.
Visited the Rooftop for my 30th birthday and the views, food, and special birthday dessert were all amazing! It was a very beautiful experience and the Fireworks display was the "icing on the cake" so to speak. I would definitely revisit the next time I'm in Cabo. Very chic, upscale, and trendy. The live band was great too.
The food portions and quality of food was poor. The ambience is wonderful
Loved the overall ambiance of The Rooftop! Very energetic crowd, romantic seating, and talented live band performers! My Partner and I stayed at The Cape for a weekend and our room was right below the Rooftop so it was very difficult not to go and be apart of all the festivities. The one night we had dinner here was absolutely wonderful! There were fireworks right the hotel so we were front row and center of what was the most magical moment of our trip! Food was delicious but the drinks were even better. Service was just up to par with the rest of the Hotel. I have been recommending The Cape ever since.
Live music 7-10pm the night I was there. There are limited bar stools, ample high tops and other varied seating to maximize the view. Excellent at sunset, fantastic fun. The food is local, fresh and spectacular. Great cocktail list, full bar to accommodate any beverage request.
This place! Perfect in every way. Can’t wait to go back!
Such an amazing time!! Risks recommend to everyone if you are looking for a grown and sexy good time in Cabo!
I did business.
Beautiful spot and live music was fantastic. For those who love design, great hotel to check out while in cabo for the interiors as well as the cocktails.
Beautiful view of the Cabo Sunset ! Excellent Service! Great atmosphere for appetizer and drinks. Highly Recommend 1
Excellent service by all staff. Hostesses and managers went out of their way to accommodate us and help w a problem (not one caused by restaurant!) Very kind and much appreciated. Food was good. Views are great and make for a most enjoyable setting!
My husband and I love this place. Our new secret spot in Cabo
Went for late night drinks on our 5 year anniversary. The ambiance is fabulous especially during the slow month of September.
I loved the Rooftop but here is what you should know before you go!
1. Don't show up starving because the portion sizes are SO small... my boyfriend learned that he had to either eat BEFORE we went, or order a second dinner of room service afterwards because the amount of food you get with the higher prices is NOT enough. Even I was pretty hungry afterwards. Take that we are surfers and showed up after a long day of surfing and diving, so our appetites are probably larger than most. But still, for example- the taquitos consist of a plate of 3 taquitos no more than 4 inches long, with no sides or anything. The taste of the food is absolutely INCREDIBLE though- the chef is very gifted in combining flavors and sauces!! SO YUMMY! Also, if you are hoping for a romantic quiet sunset evening- that is NOT the ambiance of the Rooftop. Be ready for the drumming and thumping of redundant club music (actually, get ready to hear that EVERYWHERE at the Cape Hotel haha). The live music was always very enjoyable, but oh my gosh that club music was so annoying after about 20 minutes of it our first night up there!!! We would have loved to just hear the sound of the waves crashing out front. My boyfriend and I are in our mid-twenties so if WE had enough of the club music, I can only imagine that others probably feel the same way. Still, we loved it up there. The view, the comfortable laid-back seating, and the churros kept us coming back for more!
The Rooftop has a view of the Cabo Arch unlike any other place & shouldn’t be missed. The drinks were fine and reasonably priced. The food & service were mediocre, but people seem not to care because of how stunning the view is.
The view is incredible - live music was amazing. The ambiance and decor is gorgeous. Our server was fantastic and very attentive.
Come here for sunset and reserve a table in advance.
My only con is the cocktails are pricy (your standard hotel prices $15 USD a drink) and they weren’t good at all. Basically sugar in a glass.
But this place is definitely worth the stop! We loved it!
We had a wonderful experience on the rooptop. Can't wait to return
Increíble!!! Excelente vista, ambiente y música. La comida da extraordinaria. Felices andases a la chef, oferta gastronómica de muy buena calidad.
Awesome view and my top pick for a date! First time we’ve ever been there and will go back for sure!
Amazing view. Great service. Great place for a cocktail and appetizers at sunset before dinner.
Beautiful sunset views! We didn't stay at the hotel but came to have some cocktails and watch the sunset. Truly stunning!
We looked up the time the sun was scheduled to set and booked our reservation on that. There was amazing live music and wonderful food. The staff were extremely welcoming and helped with all of our questions. Can't wait to go back!
Wonderful service and ambience ! Had a great experience ...not to mention the view ...breathtaking !!
Sexy cool vibe at this place. Music was great. We loved it and will definitely go back on our next trip.
The food was awful - barely edible. The live music was nice but so loud it was hard to talk to the person sitting next to you. Very disappointed.
Great view, cocktails, and appetizers.
Great spot for a drinks with a view, wouldn't recommend eating here. The portions are laughably small. We ordered the empanadas for $19 (not including the 15% service charge) and received three miniature empanadas that were maybe 1/4 the size of a regular empanada and could be eaten in one bite.
