After 18 incredible years behind our discreet, unmarked doors in Wicker Park, it is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the velvet curtains at The Violet Hour have closed for the final time. For a full statement, please visit our website.

I had been wanting to check this bar out for a few years. I had high expectations and my expectations were greatly exceeded. Amazing spot. Great cocktails. Attentive bartender. And what I did not expect was absolutely amazing food as well. Come for the cocktails. Or the food. Or both. Excellent spot for a fun evening.

Such a great experience at this bar. I came for the Paper Plane. Tried it and some others and loved them all. Highly recommended.

The drinks at the Violet Hour did NOT disappoint. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing we did not enjoy was the loud music that started playing around 10pm. I know it’s a Saturday night, but in such an intimate setting it was distracting and made it difficult to hold a conversation or hear the server.

We go to Violet Hour each time we visit Chicago. They always have an excellent variety of cocktails to choose from. If you like Craft Cocktails this is definitely the place to stop.

Annie is an exceptional bartender! We gave her some off menu challenges and every cocktail was amazing. Kudos!
