    We didn’t eat so I cannot comment on the food but the pud is a great place to meet I use the place regularly the staff are great and the atmosphere is sleays goof

    Really enjoyed a two-course meal here with a friend. We shared the lobster and crab croquettes with bisque mayo, pink grapefruit and shaved fennel, alongside the Cheddar cheese Royale with spring onion fritters, pickled pineapple, black bean and chilli crunch. Both starters were great. Full of flavour, well balanced and generous enough without being too much. For mains, my friend had the crispy haddock sandwich with tartare sauce, black bean and chilli crunch, which was apparently delicious and a good size. I went for the sirloin steak ciabatta with salsa verde, rocket and caramelised mustard onions. The steak was cooked perfectly and really enjoyable. Only minor grumbles were that the onions were a little wet, which made the bread slightly squidgy, and both the chunky chips and fries were lacking a crunch. That said, neither issue spoiled the meal. Would I go again? Absolutely. It’s a proper old-school pub with a lovely buzz about it. I’d just maybe ask for the onions on the side next time. 😉

    Booking process was easy, adding an extra person to the table also simple. Food was very good, our table had the selection of roasts, beef, chicken, lamb and pork. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely go again. I would say it was a bit quiet.
