Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar by Richard Sandoval
Maravilloso lugar! El restaurant es una belleza con una atmosfera muy cálida y la comida es deliciosa. No pude encontrar mejor lugar para festejar mi cumpleaños con mis mejores amigas.
The food is aways great at Toro. We like an early dinner at Tora so that we have the outside seating area almost ot ourselves. The service is great, and they serve at the pace that you want - not rushed or slow. I really appreciate the effort they made this time to accommodate my daughter that is Vegan. They had several unique options for her.
Thanks again for a wonderful dinner!
We had a family of 4 and I felt the price was unbelievably high for the quality of the food. I would say the food had a beautiful presentation but was just average at best. For 4 people which included 2 children our bill was well over $400.
Cuisine was well created and designed by Richard Sandoval and well executed by the staff. Noise level and music was edgy and seemed to be in keeping with under 40 crowd. Everything was fast passed including service, while prompt gave the impression of wanting to turn our table. The experience was a little too trendy, scripted and choreographed to give it 5 stars.
I was impressed on every level! Food, service, ambience, drink menu, etc, etc, etc. Toro was a welcome destination away from the daily resort food! Amazing...
From the minute we got there the service was outstanding staff was well-trained and attentive.
The food was terrific would highly recommend!
Loved everything about our meal and experience. The only thing I didn’t like was trying to decide what to order! Everything on the menu sounded amazing. Can not wait to go back and try more dishes!
Amazing food and great service. Beautiful bar to have drinks at and outstanding patio with fire pits and couches!
Wonderful concept restaurant with interesting unusual menu. Ideal outdoor seating with cover, cozy indoor tables, and vast spread out bar seating.
Our waiter, Adriana, and his assistant were attentive and remembered our food allergies.
The signature Escobar fish was nicely cooked, but otherwise not inspired. The tuna chiccarones were delicious as was the beet tomato salad.
We will be back!
Overall a good experience, however I felt a little rushed. I like to enjoy a cocktail and chat for a few minutes before placing my dinner order, normally 15 or 20 minutes maximum. Appetizers were delicious and the wood fired shrimp was outstanding.
Dinner was superb possibly one of the best meals we have ever had in Cabo with one exception the cost of the bottled water was ridiculous at over $11 a bottle. Our party of 5 unknowingly drank close to $70 worth of water. They continued to refill the water not asking if we wanted another bottle so we naively though it was complimentary. I have never in my life either traveling abroad to almost 40 countries nor living in the states ever paid that much for water.
Love love love
The food is exceedingly hot and spicy, to the point that it totally detracts from the taste of the dishes. If you are not fond of very spicy food, avoid eating there.
Superb experience by Sandoval and crew; service, ambience first rate; multiple ways to wind your way through the menu, fresh local food, definitely needs to be on your list!
Me encanta el lugar, la ambientación, música , el servicio, la comida es buena pero nada sobresaliente .
Wow, stunning space, delicious food, excellent service, absolutely loved everything
Dramatic entry up massive lighted stairs, very pretty modern and chic inside. Very attentive but not overbearing service.
The only thing that spoiled the evening of good food and great service was the music was too loud and annoying
What can I say, would have recommended this restaurant but when I received the bill there was a charge of $56.00 (U.S.) for water!!!!!!! They claimed we drank 6 bottles. We were 4 adults and one child. If a restaurant is going to charge that much they should leave the bottle on the table. They adjusted the bill when we complained but it left a bad taste in our mouth. I’ve been coming to Cabo for many years and this was a first!!!!
The girl at the front desk was very rude. We arrived and there were only two groups in the restaurant and the whole restaurant was empty and she seats us in a corner. When I objected she was very rude. Someone needs to train her in customer service because that is your first impression. The music was too loud for conversation and that is not the live music it’s the one over the speakers.
Good textures and flavors for each dish. Great service.
Toro was the best restaurant we ate at during our recent trip to Cabo. Everything from the margaritas to the food was perfect. When we were seated, I told the waiter that I had a gluten allergy, and they brought me some freshly baked bread with a spicy eggplant spread; it was some of the best gluten-free bread I've had. We had:
- margaritas (much better than the huge glasses of limeade they serve in the more touristy restaurants)
- the angry tuna roll (a spicy tuna reverse roll with avocado)
- crispy crab tacos (the tacos were soft, and the crab was crispy)
- the beet salad
- short rib tacos
- grilled octopus
Every dish was perfect. And for dessert, they brought me a slice of very good gluten-free chocolate cake. The service was attentive without being overbearing. And finally, I liked the more diverse crowd that this restaurant seems to attract. If you want a nouvelle Mexican dinner to remember in Cabo, this is definitely the place to go.
Every time w go, we are impressed with the food quality and beautiful environment
We celebrated our 10th Anniversary with a special dinner. La atención fue increíble, atentos a las alergias y asegurándose de preparar comida que fuera adecuada.
Amazing service, beautiful decoration!
Must go when in Cabos.
Very friendly and the food very good
On vacation in Cabo... this is our second visit to the restaurant and it didn’t seem as lively as our last visit. No live band. Food was okay but it didn’t wow us like last time.
Amazing as always. It’s a must when visiting Cabo.
Service was excellent and food was imaginative. A new Cabo favorite!
We had a lovely meal at Toro last night. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We sat outside where it was nice and quiet, the inside seemed a bit more raucous. We appreciated their ability to customize one of the orders and the fact that they didn’t recommend too much food. Overall we would recommend!
Beautiful restaurant and setting but the food was all average - disappointed overall.
I had 2 glasses of average wine and 2 very average appetizers and my bill was $75. Not nearly worth the price. Unfortunate, as the restaurant is lovely. Too many other great options in Cabo.
Came to Cabo to celebrate a wedding. We LOVE food! Foodies:) Stayed at Las Ventanas and Palmilla One and Only. Great boutique resort hotels (TOP NOTCH) to eat, but we wanted to venture out. GREAT food!! Interesting choices. Sushi great!! Fresh! RibEye was THE best rib eye I have ever eaten. Good portions. They made us street corn. Very accomidating. They have a REAL Ham Leg that they cut for prosciutto. Actual leg! Great atmosphere and great food! Glad we ventured out!
Beautiful restaurant at the entrace to Punta Ballena. The staff is warm and friendly and we were promptly seated. They have a gorgeous outdoor seating area with a firepit that is perfect for drinks and dining. We went on a Sunday night to celebrate a friends dinner and it was not crowded. The cocktails are strong and delicious and the wine list features some great wines. The seafood dishes (ceviches, angry tuna, aguachile and escolar) were outstanding - very fresh and expertly prepared. The vegetables and tortilla soup were fantastic too. The steaks were disappointing, both the ribeye and the porterhouse were served warm and the porterhouse was tough and a little overcooked. We had a lovely time and will stick with the seafood options next time.
Amazing everything out of this world
Great food and presentation
Great night out
I was disappointed that they did not have 2 of my favourite appetizers, the tostadas which they said was not available and the lamb skewer with the yogurt sauce which was no longer on the menu.
We had a 10:30 reservation an they didn’t had half of menu and were eager to close
The food was delicious except for a significant miss on the octopus dish. Maybe the worst octopus I’ve ever had. It was over cooked, dry and tasted quite fishy. All the other dishes were superb. The margaritas were maybe the best I’ve had...very classic and very refreshing. The ambience rating reflects not the well done and trendy interior but the blaring music being pumped out by the DJ. If the restaurant had been full with lots of energetic noise the music volume may have been appropriate. As it was there were only 2 tables occupied in the entire restaurant and to say it was annoying is grossly understated. We asked repeatedly if they could please adjust the music level but you guessed it ...not much happened, although I think the waiter did try.
We go everytime we're in Cabo it is fun but with a super upsale and relaxed Vibe
So wonderful!!! We adored everything about it.
