   Good spot to take in some good food. Enjoyed our visit with friendly staff. Your in Port A, not New York, Chicago, or Houston. The place is worthy of a stop while in Port A.

   We made a reservation to sit outside which was a mistake. It was hot - why are there no ceiling fans? And it was noisy - maybe put some wooden screens up between the patio and the parking lot/highway right next to it. We asked to sit inside instead but were told that would be an hour wait. Three in our group ordered the crab crusted red snapper. The fish had a consistency of having been frozen, the crab sauce was bland and the risotto chewy. Another in our group got the ribeye and said it was very spicy. Who expects a steak to be spicy? The one redeeming item - the Boudin balls appetizer, which was excellent. Doubt we will return unless we hear they've turned things around.

   To Chef Jimmy: Thank you, so very much, for serving this ‘desperate-for-fresh-oysters-west-Texan’ the off-menu oysters on the half shell. You absolutely made my day! To my fellow diners, the service was excellent, all of the food was fabulous, and I highly recommend the oysters on the half shell (as they are super fresh / locally sourced & probably the best I’ve had in at least 10 years)! You cannot go wrong with Tortuga’s.

   Our favorite restaurant to visit every time we are here. Honestly never fails and outside seating is perfect, especially with our kiddos who make messes and noise. The food and service get a thumbs up every single visit.

    Food was OK for price point. Good & Not so good. My dish: fresh, moist fish of the day with crab sauce was very good, but only a spoonful of sauce. My husbands fried fish looked like fish sticks, but came with an outstanding Remoulade Sauce. Overall experience not what I expected from photographs. More of a local vibe, diner and Bar feel. Appears to be a good place for Sushi, if that's your thing. The service. especially hostess, was excellent.

    Trip to Port Aransas for our 35th Anniversary and decided to try Tortugas for dinner from a friends suggestion. Our waiter was very personable and really promoted the food at Tortugas! Really enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits. It was so different from others similar dishes and so delicious!

    Our meal at Tortugas was outstanding. Our server was most knowledgeable and so efficient. We had four lunch entrees including the SnapperPonchetrain, Shrimp and Grits, Blackened Snapper, and Fried Shrimp. All were delicious. We will definitely return.

    Service was extremely slow……to get our beverages….to get our appetizers….to get our main course and to get our check. Food was just “ok.” For the price, we’d expected something a bit nicer. We ate outside on patio…..there was a problem with flies.

    Petey our waiter was amazing and knowledgeable. You rock, Petey. The food was excellent. Nothing was off. Despite the crowd the noise level was quiet. Excellent experience. The hostess was also so friendly and people were just happy to be at their jobs. Can't say enough good things about our experience.

    This is the best quality restaurant in Port A and it has improved since we first visited in 2020. The service was attentive beginning with the table being set for us in advance of our arrival through dessert. Our server was knowledgable, prompt and personable. Fortunately the food was as good as the service. From appetizers through desert all were good to very good, and the asparagus that accompanied the entrees was exceptional - sweet, al dente and well seasoned. Well worth visiting if you want a more relaxed, sophisticated dining experience.

    Everything was good. The only thing is my red fish had bones in it and wasn’t warned before. Being a “higher end” restaurant in port a id expect them to warn me. I had to eat a few pieces of bread to get it out of my throat and am currently sore.
