   We thoroughly enjoyed our meal (lunch) at Tupelo. We were able to sit outside and enjoyed listening to the music of a street performer as we ate. The original fried chicken was delicious, as were the fries. The wait staff and hostess were very friendly.

   We were seated on the side of the restaurant by the kitchen. It was fine, but it was literally where the servers were picking up orders and there was no divider. It was as if we were in the kitchen itself. That said, the waitress was friendly and the food was outstanding as always. I would come here for the Brussels alone!

    My boyfriend and I love Asheville so whenever we do get to visit Asheville we make sure we dine in Tupelo Honey. But this time unfortunately the experience was not what it was like before. The food was cold, and quantity seemed less. The Tupelo team member who served us took a lot of time ( almost 25 mins to come take the order, and then she somehow felt really upset with the tip even though it was 12% of the total amount. I mean even though the service was extremely late , it was not very great and then she got upset with the tip. So basically that was how it was this time.

    Great taste of southern cooking. Fried chicken was crisp and delicious along with the charred Brussels sprouts, which was excellent. Also enjoyed some specialty drinks, particularly the Boozy Turkey. Overall a satisfying experience!

    First and last trip to the Downtown location. Food was just okay, very limited menu. Who doesn’t have mashed potatoes as a side with fried chicken? Also not a fan of sitting on metal chairs.

    Started with the Bees Knees cocktail which was slightly strong but very good. Husband had the meatloaf which was more like a meatball. Very tasty! The cast iron pork was a generous tender portion of pork which was delicious and spicy. Choose the grits as a side dish to cool your palate and because they are good!!

    Food was incredible. Service was top notch. Only issue was there is no waiting area and it’s chaos at the front door. Small price to pay for high quality food. 5 stars!

    We had a reservation that we placed a week in advance- we get there, a group without a reservation is sat at a table and we are sat at the bar.. The food was mediocre for how much people rave about it. The only thing that I enjoyed was the mimosa with peach nectar. The bartender manager seemed to enjoy her beer though so… Service was okay- would not recommend honestly- you have better options all around downtown.

    We’ve been here a couple times, and we have always enjoyed our food and drinks. This time, not so much. The chicken and waffles was not really edible. The biscuit was completely ruined by so much gravy. The chicken was pure breading. My husband got the skillet and it was pretty good. (Lots of onions… LOTS) We will give it another try, but disappointed for sure.

    We were a family of 7. Even with a reservation, on a Thursday night, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. There was nowhere to wait inside (no bar to sit at). So, we had to wait outside which is fine when it’s not windy and 40 degrees. The fried chicken was moist and the grits were excellent. The Sangria was terrible. It tasted like Swedish Glogg punch. The server never introduced himself and didn’t follow-up by checking on us. We had to flag him down. There are many restaurant choices in Asheville and little convinced me that Tupelo Honey is worth trying anytime soon. If I do, it won’t be with a large group.

    My family dined at Tupelo Honey while visiting nearby Black Mountain. The food was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles with a house made ginger beer. I also sampled the fried green tomatoes appetizer. That was also delicious. Everyone at the table enjoyed their entree. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    I haven’t been there in a couple years. They used to be famous for their sweet potato pancakes. These pancakes were the reason for us going. Very disappointed to find they no longer serve these. Why would you stop serving the very thing that made you so popular?

    It’s not easy to go and have a good meal at a touristy place. I ordered basic southern food; fried chicken with waffles. Everything tasted like it had been sitting on a counter without heating lamps!! Very disappointed. We live in Asheville and try to avoid the tourist crowds. I woke up with a craving and we went for it! My husband parked far from the restaurant. Not worth the effort 😞
