Located in Buffalo's Central Business District with FREE VALIDATED PARKING — steps from Sahlen Field, Seneca One, KeyBank Center, and Canalside — The Bistro at the Vault is a French Bistro inspired by the Art Deco Movement of the roaring 1920s.
Housed in the lower level of the historic Marin Building, the space is a contemporary reimagining of the original bank's Trust Department, safe deposit boxes, and iconic vault.
Led by Executive Chef Derek Minkensky, our menu features elevated, yet approachable French cuisine built on fresh ingredients and dishes tailored to Buffalo's four seasons. Our attentive service team is committed to welcoming, memorable experiences for every guest.

Excellent service and a number of good entree options. All four of our meals were excellent. We will definitely return.

Our server was great and communicated well. He followed up often with updates. However, it took almost 50 minutes from time of order to receive our meals, and when the food did come out, the food was cool to warm at best. We noted this to our server and was offered an apology and to hang with them as they are still getting their feet under them. For $40/plate, I expect better. The food was tasty, but it did leave a lot to be desired.

$450 dollars for dinner for 5 seems absolutely ridiculous. We didn’t order any appetizers and had 6 alcoholic beverages between the 5 of us. Restaurant was freezing cold.

Celebrated my husbands birthday at The Vault. Beautiful restaurant, very good food and excellent service (thanks, Janelle!) Would definitely return for a special occasion or just a nite out.

Food was nothing to write home about. Calamari was inedible; horrible breading, overcooked, calamari did not taste good, plus it was barely warm - sent it back. Not many customers in the place. Everything on the menu was overpriced. There are better restaurants out there. Decor was nice. Server was also nice.

This was our first time visiting, and will definitely not be our last! We ended up finding a spot at the bar and stayed fire the entire night! The staff was very nice and attentive, Drinks were great, pricing was very reasonable and the food was delicious! My steak was cooked to perfection and my husband's bucatini pasta was so yummy! We absolutely loved the atmosphere as well!

The meatballs were excellent! The Caesar salad wasn’t very good—tasted like cinnamon or something sweet was added, not a good mix. We got filets, and the cook on them was great, but the crust/seasoning was way too overpowering. The cook itself was perfect!
