   If you want to eat where the other Asheville chefs eat, go to Vivian. Innovative yet approachable cuisine simply but meticulously prepared. Great service: attentive but not hovering; friendly but not too friendly. This will always remain on my short list of Asheville's best restaurants.

   I love this place for brunch. I’ve only been twice, and both visits were excellent. Great atmosphere, good service, and really good food at reasonable prices. Definitely one of my go to places to take visiting friends and family.

   We're return customers, always enjoy eating at Vivian. Only one issue this time...the Open Table reservation form asked if it was a special occasion and I answered yes, it was my daughter's birthday. Certainly different restaurants acknowledge special occasions in their own way, but no one even said "Happy Birthday" to my daughter.

   I can always rely on Vivian for an excellent meal and this was no exception. Our brunch was delicious, as were our drinks. If you're looking for creative, locally sourced food with a twist, this is the place.

    Excellent experience. The outdoor seating with heaters was great. The seasonal cocktails, appetizer, entrees and dessert were outstanding as was the service. We've dined here several times and it is always elevated dining.

    We are so happy to have Vivian in Asheville - 4 years now! Time flies, even during Covid. Great evening! We shared the seasonal salad - so good with the parsnip chips and some yum cheese - I was not crazy with the smoked croutons (I'm not a crouton person anyway and these were a bit strong). Just didn't eat them and it was great. I had the Wreck Fish - perfectly cooked, flaky and delish; the veg was good and the sauce was terrific - thoroughly enjoyed my main. My partner had the lamb shank - oh my! It was so so very tender and unctuous - wish we had a dog to bring that bone home to. Shared tiramisu for dessert - one of the best I've had. Garry also had some butter pecan ice cream on the side ...he said it was the best butter pecan ice cream he has ever had and this is his knew favorite!

    We came upon this little gem on our one overnight stay in Asheville on the way to Nashville and were VERY pleased. Great service and excellent meal. Order the Nordic Deviled eggs - some of the best deviled eggs ever! We also got the clams - delish! And the grilled cabbage, all appetizers...and all excellent choices. We split the lamb shank which was truly enough for 2 people - very yummy in its molasses glaze and collard greens. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gem off the beaten track.

    An overall wonderful experience from all angles. The drinks were top notch - reasonably priced considering the liquors and liqueurs that we used in the cocktails. The variety of food was astounding - lamb shanks and steaks alongside several appealing appetizers. On top of it, the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I would go back in a heartbeat, and can't think of a better date spot in town!

    Found Vivian through OpenTable and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the food was on point. We throughly enjoyed the charred cabbage and rutabaga , the ribeye was absolutely perfect when paired with the onions, house steak sauce, and select mushrooms. Even my, not a steak lover, wife enjoyed our “shared” dish. Be sure to include their locally baked bread and we finished with the pineapple upside down, and a little over baked, cake. The butter pecan ice cream sealed our experience. Most importantly, though, the cocktail menu was creative, well balanced and delicious. The bartender executed superbly and even creatively, when invited. Thanks, Vivian, for a great evening.

    We had a great first time experience at Vivian's in Asheville. It is off the beaten path and has a neighborhood feel of warmth and coziness! The steak and the scallop dish were both amazing and generous portions!

    Experience was great, wonderful quaint restaurant downtown. All of the food was spot on but the fish was a little undercooked for my taste so the texture clashed with the rest of the dish.

    Cool place with really good food. A couple of small rooms inside - we ate on patio - closed walls with plenty of heat. Small menu but dishes done extremely well and great helpful staff.

    Everything about our brunch experience at Vivian was outstanding. We started with a house made Bloody Mary. Delicious. We each ordered different menu choices for our brunch. Everything was absolutely wonderful. Our server was professional and looked after us without hovering. The hostess was friendly when we came in and made us feel welcome. It was just a delightful Sunday brunch and we can't wait to return! We have already recommended Vivian to others.

    Great spot to check out foe a delicious meal BUT only inside or at the bar. Outside may have a heater but it’s beside a door. The bartender was great and knew his wine. choose the bar and the coconut cake :)
