Located in San Diego's Gaslamp neighborhood, Waypoint Public offers inventive American pub fare with global influences. The restaurant's menu changes often in order to offer the best seasonal ingredients. Waypoint Public has a full bar which features local craft beers in addition to wine and spirits. Start out your meal with an appetizer to share with the group such as the hummus plate or the Moroccan deviled eggs. Waypoint Public also serves brunch on the weekends which includes items like black pepper herb sausage, Applewood bacon and herbed potatoes. Choose from dinner items like the chilaquiles verde or the "devilmademedoit" burger which comes topped with Sriracha aioli.

My friends and I went for lunch on Sunday. I made a reservation. We arrived 15 min early and they were able to seat us right away. It was pretty busy that day and we waited one hour for our food, but the manager was nice enough to comp our food due to such a long wait!

I really like this place and have been quite a few times. My only complaint - I was excited to try their coffee, which is from Dark Horse Roasters next door to them, but was disappointed because it tasted really old. I should have stuck with alcohol like I usually do! Awesome spot for kids and for watching Sunday football.

Waypoint is an excellent gastropub that provides terrific food and a great beer list. But even better is that they have a little play area for kids that has bean bags, books, toys and movies. The play area is visible from about a third of the restaurant so parents should plan to sit in that part of the place. If you're not a kid person just sit away from that side, you'll be fine. Great setup and something other restaurants can learn from.

We went to this place for my sister's bachelorette party and the place did not disappoint. She loves gastro pubs so this was a very good choice. The place had a fun atmosphere and I liked the décor, modern Americana. There were a lot of babies when we went, and the noise level was pretty high up there, which made it really hard to get the attention of the waitresses. However the food was good and the beer even better and it kicked off a great party so no real complaints. It was pretty reasonably priced too.

The food and service was very good. The noise level was very loud. The music was way to loud for a restaurant. You had to yell over the music to talk to your friends.

well the food was very tasty I did not understand why they had all of their windows up when it was 100 degrees out and they had the AC cranked in the back of the restaurant. why would you not shut the windows and run the AC in the whole restaurant? In addition the planter of flowers that was on our table was a fly magnet, it was disgusting.

Great food and great service. Went for brunch on a Sunday and all three if us were very pleased with the experience. They games on too which I don't care about but for many that is a plus.

I have been to the waypoint several items as the restaurant was on my top 10 go-to list. Unfortunately I have noticed to food seemingly going downhill over that past couple visits. Service and ambiance has always been great, that I still enjoy, but as a foodie the Waypoint is apparently cutting costs in the wrong places with lackluster food as the result l.

My friends and I LOVE this place. The food has always been outstanding. However, this time, not so much. Our main dishes were not cooked correctly. My husband had the flatiron steak, but it was really undercooked. I had the albacore, but it seemed fishy and didn't set well with me. The appetizers were perfectly cooked and tasted great! We may have come on an off night. Will definitely try it again.
