My wife’s chicken piccata (?) was dry and overcooked. Somehow it tasted good anyway. On the other hand my meatballs dish was decidedly not as good. I ate two pieces and left the rest to be thrown away. Our shared caprese salad starter was tasty, although not the best quality mozzarella. All together I’ll be looking to eat elsewhere next time I’m in Hendersonville.

West First is always our "go-to" restaurant. The quality of the food never varies - its always GREAT! I absolutely love their house salad!! PIzzas are definintely the best in Hendersonville and so many choices to make your own unique pie. Crust is thin and crisp! YUM. The wait staff are all friendly and efficient, bartenders excellent! Best to make a reservation - they are always busy.

The pizza is out of this world - with enough options to please everyone. I recommend a salad to go with the pizza…even their simplest house salad is far above what you get at most places. Have yet to try the pasta dishes but I can safely assume all dishes are made with the freshest and finest ingredients available. Highly recommend.

In more than 10 yrs, we've never had a bad experience at West First. The pizza and salads are exceptional, whether off the menu or the daily specials. The service is top notch even when the place is packed!

Two couples ate dinner. One was almost finished eating before the other's came out. Porch was quite warm but quiet, allowing for conversation. Inside was very loud. Food was tasty.

We're locals, we know the pizza places around here, and we love this place. Make a reservation EARLY. Park for free on Washington St, just a block-and-a-half away (Hendersonville recently instituted a complicated pay-for-parking system downtown and no one likes it).

The pizza my husband ordered was excellent. However, I ordered the shrimp scampi and expected some garlic to be in the sauce as well as some butter. The sauce was tasteless. The shrimp were okay. This dish didn't live up to the previous experiences we had at West First Wood-Fired. I will stick to the pizzas!

We had made a reservation for four to entertain our guests that were visiting. First we were going to be seated at a table in the main room, but it was next to a table filled with children, and we asked if we could move and they graciously said, of course, put us at another table and then my group decided they wanted to sit outside, so the staff graciously moved us to the patio area, we always bring people here because we know we will get a great meal with great service. Thank you West first, for being our go to spot.

Made last minute reservations for my family for my birthday. My husband and I had only eaten here once. I remembered it as just OK. Since I always give a restaurant a 2nd chance, this would it. First for the good. The hostess staff was efficient and pleasant. Our server was friendly,attentive & efficient. My husband liked the hibiscus tea. Unfortunately that’s where the good stops. I noted on the reservation that it was my birthday. There was no mention of that from any of the staff. But I can live with that. The food was the WORST I’ve had in a long time. My brother and parents had never been there and I was embarrassed that I brought them. We had 2 chicken piccata, 2 shrimp scampi and a trout piccata. My brother said the trout was just OK. My parents aren’t complainers so they ate but I could tell they weren’t enjoying. My mother, like myself, seasoned her food multiple times. My chicken piccata and my husband’s shrimp scampi was the most flavorless food we’ve ever ordered. The chicken tasted and looked like it had been boiled with no seasonings. I’ve never had a piccata that wasn’t pan seared and/or lightly battered and seasoned appropriately. My pasta was just as bland & overcooked. There were only 4-5 capers on the dish. The piccata sauce that should have provided flavor was flavorless - there was very little of it and it tasted like weak lemon water - no butter/wine/garlic flavor at all. I managed to eat 1/4 of it just to put something in my stomach since I hadn’t eaten all day, but it required using everything on the table - salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese- multiple times to give it enough flavor to get it down. My husbands shrimp scampi was the same. The shrimp seemed good quality - just no flavor - not even garlic. IF we decide to give it another chance it will ONLY be to try the pizza. I did notice most people ordered pizza. That should have given me a clue. Lesson learned. I’m at a loss on how the ratings in general are so good.

We had a reservation and when we arrived, they seated us right away on the 2nd level with a window seat overlooking the courtyard of the court house. The establishment was packed, didn’t really expect that for a Monday evening. My wife and I enjoyed our drinks. We split the seasonal salad and Greek chicken pizza.
