Over dit restaurant

Kindvriendelijk
Goed voor speciale gelegenheden
Innovatief

Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.

The service was excellent and ambiance good. All the food was good except the Spiedini Pollo which was below expectations. The chicken on the skewer was a little dry and the potatoes tasteless! I must say though our starters were good along with the other main coarse.

We had a post Christmas get together and overall it was a lovely experience. We changed our booking time for half a hour later which was no bother to the staff. Very good friendly service, wine and food good quality a few more prawns in the linguine would have been nice is the only criticism. Well done Zizzi !

Although they had no record of my booking through Opentable and they were busy, they coped well by finding us a table. Usual Zizzi menu but on a very cold night it was most welcome. Only negative (slight) was that it was very noisy.

Everything was 'ok', except my risotto was mush (which I didnt send back, as was hungry) and my friends food was cold (which she sent back, and it was returned still cold!) Waiter was friendly and chatty, but waitress didnt have a clue, when asked some basic questions. Food and wine were brought to the table promptly.

I love the wood fired pizza. Sometimes the toppings could be more generous. The atmosphere is nice but abit noisy. The kids love the kids menus, the colouring and taking aballoon. Good desserts. Polite service.

Zizzi Lincoln provided a great Valentine night it's not a romantic candlelight sort of place but it's bright, well designed and fun When you add good food & good service, this made a great evening after a shocking day's weather !
