Set within the 19th century Hanbury Manor estate in Hertfordshire, Zodiac pays homage to its storied past with a contemporary dining experience that is rooted in British heritage and shaped by the seasons.                             It was lovely to have the Zodiac dining back at Hanbury Manor. The service was fantastic and the food to match - thoroughly enjoyed our meal for my husbands birthday 🎂

                            Definitely a little overpriced for what it was. £7 for a bottle of water and wine from about £13 a glass so you know it’s not cheap establishment but for what they charge the food did not match on this occasion. Our starters were just ok. Nothing special. A nice mushroom soup (of the day) and a beetroot starter that was fairly bland. We also got the compte bites which were very tasty - can’t go wrong with melted, breaded cheese bites. We both rooted for steaks for mains. Sadly they didn’t have the cote de boeuf which is what we were hoping to share, so went for a sirloin and t-bone. Sirloin was a bit overcooked and my T-bone was served rare even though I’d specifically asked for it medium-well. I do find it incredibly annoying that you go out for dinner, pay top dollar and they can’t get it right. Cooking steak isn’t rocket science and at these prices if you cannot cook it better than I can do it at home, then honestly, what’s the bloody point? Fillet side of my bone was genuinely delicious but the sirloin side poor quality, was very tough with a lot of connective tissue running through it that I couldn’t chew through. Yuk. I ate what I could. Was offered a replacement but didn’t want another 20+ minute wait - just get it right the first time. Sides were French fries - good, green salad - ok and pan fried broccoli that was partially burnt and I really should have sent back but didn’t bother. Shared an apple tatin for desert which was edible/ok/decent but sadly nothing special and the apple seemed over cooked and to be lacking pastry….more like stewed apple. Wine was very nice but the kitchen had nothing to do with that. Overall a disappointing meal for what we had expected. Won’t be going back again. Service was pleasant - Grace, our server was very sweet and tried her best. I liked the setting too.

                            Booked here for a special birthday dinner. Booking was confirmed through Open Table in usual way. When we turned up to hotel we found out that the restaurant was not actually open on Sundays, so we had to eat in the very ordinary café/bar. Reception staff were barely apologetic about this, just said the booking should not have been accepted.

                            The overall experience was good and the food amazing but my only criticism is the size of portion for the main course. I cannot fully understand how you can justify basically £10 per piece of lamb, an extra slice would have made it value for money.

                            Restaurant was very hot but not their fault as they would be unable to install AC in this area. Service by Marion was excellent, he is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Food was very good and we will certainly return. The members discount makes it very good value for money too

                            Ordered Fillet steak got served sirloin. When questioning waiter was told just try you will like. Sent back to kitchen and what we then got served if Fillet was not like any fillet I have ever eaten. That got sent back too. In the end had no meal and spoiled a very nice day.

                            The food and service was excellent. The portion size of the halibut and lamb was too small to justify any price or to be called dinner. The restaurant was too hot and the least they should have done was put fans or mobile ac units in.

                            Staff were friendly and helpful, food was tasty and well presented, overall it was a lovely place to take someone for a birthday meal. Given the high temperatures that day, some form of cooling/air conditioning/air movement would have been nice, but the heat did not detract from the whole experience.
