Arrived at noon for lunch. Properly seated to a nice table. Waiter introduces himself, brings water and bread to the table. We ordered one cup of coffee and he was going to make it for us. He brings the coffee and asked to take our order. We ordered the crab sandwich and the hamburger. He never returned the table, except to bring the food and set it down. He asked if we needed anything else and he provided pepper to the table. Our hamburger was ice cold, and the side salad was lukewarm. We finally flagged down another waiter. He took the hamburger back to the kitchen, and it took 25 minutes to re-cook the hamburger. By that time we already Determined the service was poor. I had to flag down a different waiter to get a refill on the coffee once. When they brought the bill they didn’t ask about refill on coffee nor did they refill our water glasses, which was mine was empty. All in all it was absolutely terrible service and the kitchen, or the waiter did not bring out the hamburger when it was first done. Last month we had a party of four at this restaurant, and we had the most outstanding service and food that anyone could ask for. So obviously for lunch we were severely disappointing.

Excellent food and service as usual. I spoke to the Mgr. regarding Ruth's chris being bought. My message was: then the new owners "don't change". The most important value, aside from the food and service, is consistency. Ruth's Chris is not cheap, but they deliver a consistent experience time after time.

Ruth’s Chris has been our go to for steak for years. Mother’s Day seem to be an outlier regards to service and food. Our steaks came out over cooked, my lobster was dried and burned. We had ordered two lobsters, but only got one. They forgot to put in our martinis, so we never got one of them.

My wife & I celebrated Mother's Day at Ruth Chris. What a fantastic experience. Everything was perfect, for our check-in to the meal & drinks. The desert was great too. Ruth Chris always provides great & timely service. I would recommend Ruth Chris, Del Mar to anyone.

Indulged in a Mother's Day lunch. However, the waiter forgot my second glass of wine, and the bread arrived later than requested. Nevertheless, the food was good. The prices were higher than expected, and the casual attire of other diners detracted from the upscale ambiance.
