Prominently situated in the heart of Coronado’s iconic village, Stake is a modern take on the classic chophouse of decades past with a chef-driven menu sourced with only the highest quality ingredients available.

Executive Chef Matt Sramek’s menu includes a number of share-friendly filets, chops, Japanese A5 wagyu, and dry-aged prime steak, an expansive selection of seafood appetizers including raw oysters from both East & West coasts, Alaskan King Crab, ice-cold shellfish & crudo, healthy salads, and rustic, wood fire-roasted side dishes, in addition to a handful of freshly composed seasonal seafood entrées.

We both requested our Filet Mignons to be lightly seasoned. My husband requested pepper instead of salt. They both arrived very salty, and there was no pepper on his. The quality of the steaks was superb. Sadly, the salt was overwhelming.

I don’t hand out 5-stars very often but this place gets them. It was Lent so we stuck to seafoods. The mussels in cream were the best i’ve ever had. The Tuna sliders were better than most beef sliders i’ve ever had. We also had oysters that were fresh and delicious. Cocktails were spot on. The wait staff was excellent from start to finish. This was truly fine dining. Be prepared to spend some moolah but it’s worth it.

WOW! I am really glad that my husband and I went to Stake on our very short trip to Coronado. Everything was spectacular. The server presented a platter of the steak offerings and explained each one. I'd had my heart set on seafood that night and quickly changed my mind. I am so glad I did. Our steaks were the best we have ever had. Vegetables were perfectly cooked. A really fun part of the experience was the presentation of knives to choose from for the meal! And, since we were celebrating my birthday, a free dessert was offered. The choices were amazing. I opted for carrot cake and it was amazing! The meal, ambience, selection, and service made this well worth every penny! I highly recommend.

2nd time we do the tasting and this time we added the wine pairing and it was amazing. The food was delicious and the wine amazing. The service was wonderful. I didn’t take pictures of the food since we have a rule about no cellphones at the table. But I highly recommend the tasting.
