Excellent reception and table service. I know that i said earlier that the food was « ok » but i am correcting this here: it was good but i selected a dish that is not my favorite dish. The drinks (French75 and a Sauvignon Blanc) were amazing and the appetizer - mac’n cheese - was amazing. Our waiter was fantastic.
We ate outdoors , we were seated at a table for 6 for 2 of us while other tables for 2 were left open. Our server Daniel was a pleasure and very capable
We reserved an outdoor patio table for an early Thursday evening dinner. Our server, John, was very attentive and pleasant. The Danish BBQ ribs were delicious as was the Raspberry Cheesecake. We appreciated that Covid protocols were in place.
Sat on there outdoor area everything was amazing and so lovely!
Best sushi in town!
We had Daniel as our server and he was spectacular! He truly took our experience from great to incredible with his suggestions and knowing when to give us space vs when to touch the table. We will definitely be back and we will always ask for Daniel!
The ribs and the salmon were outstanding! The dessert was excellent. The bread pudding is enormous!
We had a nice patio table.
We love eating on the patio at Stanford Grill. It kind of feels like eating outside on vacation. I ordered the bass special and it was delicious. My daughter had the NY strip special, and substituted the sides -- the kitchen never has a problem replacing the sides, which is a huge plus! Caesar salads are large and yummy. Great service from our waitress. We will definitely be back again and again.
Hostess was rude and left us at the entrance while on a personal call.
A wonderful dining experience as expected. Daniel our server was most accommodating. The food was exceptional as well. The new menu is limited, as one should expect in these trying times but a very fine selection of meals
My first time back in what feels like forever and the SUSHI IS BACK! My the ribs were fantastic as well!
We visited at noon, it was quiet and service was quick. Like this place and go there often. This time the server forgot to place the 2/3 of my meal in a box, because i could not eat more. So kind of lost money.
Always delicious!!! My friend had the Rotisserie chicken which I never tried before, WOW! I usually order a fish dish, which I did last night, Salmon. Next time the chicken!! Loved the Ceasar Salad, which came with a piece of their cornbread (the best!).
Appreciated the free garage parking on a rainy Sunday. The food portions were huge—just a little disappointed my request for an Impossible cheeseburger with no mayo came out as an impossible burger with mayo and no cheese. I scraped the mayo off because I was hungry. Waiter did not stop back to check on us until I was finished eating. Not overly crowded so noise level was low.
Overall the only complaint I have and I have had it repeatedly at Stanford Grill is the front desk reception employees. There is always a delay and they always make us feel as if they would be just as happy if we just left! They need to be sent to "charm school"!
Consistently good. We ate outside and loved the al fresco dining.
I had a reservation to sit outside at 7:30. At first we were told to step to the side and wait. After waiting 5-10;minutes a hostess started to seat us inside. We advised her that we had a reservation for a table outside. We were then told that there were no tables available outside and other people had reservations for outside. The manager did come over and asked if we wanted to wait for an outside table. She did offer drinks while we waited as well as a couple appetizers once we were seated. Once seated, service and food were great. When we came in to the restaurant another party was arguing with the hostesses. The hostesses should be trained better
A return to in restaurant dining we had long awaited. Be careful not to over order “Starters”, they are very large and tasty. I was delighted that Prime Rib was one of the specials since it had been removed from the permanent menu, bring it back please. It was perfectly cooked and very delicious. All four of our meals were excellent. The drinks, however we’re small pours. Now the BIG complaint. The house music was so loud that diners were nearly yelling to have their conversations heard. This in all produced a VERY noisy atmosphere which was quite unpleasant. The noise level reduced the experience from an A+ to a B-
We are frequent patrons of Stanford Grille and are always pleased with both the food and the service.
It was really nice to see the crowds coming back and enjoying the fine dining and spirits!!!!
My food choice was spicy due to seasoning which disagrees with me. The restaurant accommodated me with another selection in a short period of time. The food was delicious.
This is always a favorite of ours! Sitting outside during pandemic has been great option.
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious!
I've written negative reviews about Stanford Grill - Rockville before; this one will be my last. We've dined here numerous times over the years and have generally been disappointed. (We love the Stanford Grill - Columbia outpost, which is solid from top to bottom.) The food at the Rockville restaurant is inconsistent. The service is sorely lacking. We suspect that all of the problems we've experienced here are due to poor management. The menus at the two restaurants are similar, but the execution is vastly different. For this visit, we had to request ice and lemon wedges multiple times--from multiple servers. They brought our drink order twice when we only ordered one round. The food looked and tasted very bland. Someone in our party ordered the Danish ribs. I've never seen a rib rack look like this. Lifeless and dry. His mashed potatoes were awful. The seared Ahi tuna salads were also bland; only the dressing helped. My rotisserie chicken salad was similarly flavorless--save for the BBQ sauce. This is a beautiful property that would be better served hosting a better restaurant. The community would be grateful.
Everything was excellent. Menu has become much more limited. Would like to see it expanded a bit. A bit pricey for everyday casual family dining.
The menu is limited
Ribs were not up to usual par ; losing its touch
We got there 10 minutes late and were denied sitting cause they’re were closed even though they were serving more than 10 tables, Very dissapoinited! Never going back!
With one big exception, we enjoyed our dinner at Stanford Grill very much. The food and the atmosphere were excellent. The exception was our Server, Nichole, who was quite disappointing. She was all smoke and mirrors. After greeting us and taking our drink and food order, we never spoke with her again until she read off the dessert selection and brought our check. Everything else was handled by other restaurant Staff members and nobody came by to even offer to refill our wine glasses. Quite unusual and especially for a nice restaurant in the DC Metro area.
I made a reservation here for a date, and I am SO glad I did! The atmosphere was so pleasant, our waiter Marcos was very nice and helpful with the menu, and the ribeye was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend the Stanford Grill to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or have a great meal.
We love Stanford Grill. We were so happy to get back inside fully vaccinated after spending the past many months safely outside. Great to see them getting back to full staff. In any case, the food is always terrific and delicious.
Food was over salted and bland. The only thing we liked was the corn bread. Service was good though.
Just be prepared for the noise of the cicadas ! Otherwise the food, service, and ambience were outstanding.
Disappointed in the food. Corn bread had hot peppers in it. Potatoes had too much pepper. Rotisserie chicken was too salty. Food definitely has gone down hill since we last ate there. Too bad as it used to be good.
Felt very safe at our table inside away from other tables.
Good food, good service, nice ambience. It has been our go-to place during the pandemic and will continue to be our neighborhood favorite as we emerge from it.
The food and service were very good. We sat in the outdoor area and the tables were well spaced.
A wonderful experience at this place, we celebrated my birthdate and everything from the beginning with the hostess and waitress were so fantastic, the customer service, the ambiance, the food was so delicious, our sitting were outside so we could enjoy the wonderful weather with so calming music as background. We had such a fantastic time that I recommend indeed this restaurant for all my friends and family. I want to repeat it ASAP.
Glad to see you haven't lost a step in keeping up the quality since the beginning of the pandemic. Second visit since vaccinations and happy to see all is well
Came back after a couple of weeks..Everyone want to try the crabcakes . And no one was disappointed. The crabcakes are lump crabmeat, artfully seasoned and browned. Good news for our tastes, no green peppers. Now that will bring you back. Service personal and responsive. Enjoyable night out.
First, I want to thank David. He helped me plan my event. David was a pleasure to work with and helped me every step of the way. It was a surprise party for my husband. There were 25 people and I was worried about how the service would be. I heard that restaurants were suffering because staffing was limited. Nikki was our server. She worked alone, with occasional help, but she was super. She had a lot of requests and demands from us, but she handled it very professionally with a smile on her face. I am very grateful for her. I’m dying at this restaurant frequently. For takeout and also for dining in. The food is always delicious and the desserts are scrumptious. My party was a success with rave reviews from my guests! I totally recommend this restaurant.
