Excellent sushi. Great staff. You can't go wrong if you want great sushi.
Food and service always great. Noisy and long wait even with reservation. But overall worth it.
Great Upper West Side neighborhood sushi spot. Crowded. Omakase at sushi bar is good and the prices are excellent. Very nice sake menu. Reservations recommended.
Fish is exceptional
Excellent food but service felt rush as entrees arrived almost immediately after we ordered.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Sometimes I crave it so much that I just get in a cab and go--just don't try that at dinnertime because without a reservation there's no chance of getting a table. Freshest fish ever. Lovely waitstaff. They've even found a better Pinot Grigio, if wine is your preferred sushi drink.
High quality fish and reasonable prices. Very nice service.
Consistently excellent and fresh food.
Great service and value for money.
Great service and food recommendations were helpful for first time visit.
Sushi Yasaka is a wonderful restaurant. I’ve eaten there about 15 times and I love it every time! I always get the lunchbox and I get tofu steak. It’s a real treat! Great value. I highly recommend it.
Great! I love to go here with my gf. We always have a great time here.
Prompt service, delicious food
came here before a show.. Got there a little early which was perfect..they were ready for us.. Service very good and food was Amazing!! So fresh and delicious!!
Great experience as usual, good service, fresh food
Best and most reasonable sushi on the UWS! So happy it's in the neighborhood!
Amazing food and service. Will definitely come back!
Amazing food. Restaurant is always hot though, so don't overdress.
This place is fabulous! My friend and I had the lunchbox. We loved it. Huge amount of food! It was all good.
Always fresh fish, great selection, and friendly service. This is our favorite place for sushi!
We went on a Sunday night and the sushi was very fishy and had an off-putting taste. We had been there before and everything was delicious so maybe it was an off night. We had sashimi and two rolls and everything tasted weird. When we told the waitress she just said ok and did not do anything else. We then just got the check and left. They did not acknowledge that anything was wrong.
Fantastic - soup was a good on a damp dark evening! Would love to go again and again but it is always booked full.
Great sushi and affordable spot in UWS.
Great, delicious, authentic sushi. Friendly service.
We have been coming to SY for a couple of years. The food is always excellent and incredibly consistent. The service, on the other hand has been been friendly but highly variable. They tend to bring everything at once when ordering a few apps for example. Tend to want you out of their hair close to closing time. We were served by AJ this last time and found him to be on the ball and fastidious. A breath of fresh air. Hire more like him. Keep up with the great food!
This is one of my favorite sushi places. The food and service are always good regardless of the time of day and how crowded it is. They are flexible in terms of additions and substitutions on platters. Would recommend this to anyone.
Remains my favourite Sushi place in New York; small restaurant; all food ultra fresh, nicely presented; friendly service; a bit loud if you go there with business friends.
Great food - excellent service
By far, best quality/price for sushi in the city. And, they take reservations!
Great fresh fish and amazing sushi!
Really enjoyed it! Service was very good.
I will definitely be back.
very dependable and delicious, as usual! My local favorite.
Best value for money place for jap food in NYC; for many years now
Great sushi, nice place. Highly recommend. Close to Beacon and Lincoln Center.
We had the sushi lunch special and it was really good and fresh. The place gets really crowded and you have to sit so close to the next table that’s the only downside. We ordered the yellowtail scallion, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and these steak and scallions app. Also got the dark miso which was an extra $2 (not worth it).
I usually get the sushi which is is generally very good quality that is classically prepared. This time we had yellowtail fish collar, "tofu steak' which was delicate and tasty, mushrooms in butter sauce and gyosa. Also very good. Sushi Yasaka is often very crowded which means that it is hard to hear your companions and tha you should make a reservation to go there. It has a good value point between quality and cost.
Great, fresh food. Excellent service! One of my favorites in the city
Absolutely fantastic sushi.
Well, I used to love this place, despite the chaos that always ensues. And I was really happy to get a reservation when I needed one. But our table wasn't ready - not necessarily their fault, as I notices people sitting and chatting way after paying their bill. The most disappointing part was the skimpy portions. Never felt that way before, and we'd been many times. We ordered our usual plus an additional (expensive "special" roll), and left hungry. The special roll was a particular affront, at 6 tiny bites for $14.
It's really close to where we live, but really doubt we'll return.
Great sushi. Quick service. Ideal for pre-opera or pre-concert dining.
Amazing, as always.
