Over dit restaurant

This small and cosy Indian on Lordship Lane is a great local curry house in East Dulwich that is perfect for everything from last-minute mid-week meals to parties and fun family nights out. Swadesh is loved by locals for their interesting and diverse Indian menu which steers clear from the regular curry house fare, and the glass-fronted dining room is smart and clean with wooden floors, leather banquettes and a cheery ambience. Popular items from the Swadesh menu include the Zafrani fish tikka roasted with saffron and fresh herbs; the smoked lamb dumplings with Lucknawi spices; and the aloo bora, deep-fried mashed potato stuffed with mint and ginger.

Hidden between almost 20 indian restaurants in the area this is a gem of a find. The welcome was exceedingly warm. The nbeers were on top and lovely and cool. The food was excellent. I would definetly recommend this wonderful restaurant to friends, and return again very soon. Thank you Swadesh

We have dined at Swadesh in East Dulwich a number of times and as we have experienced previously, the food was very good indeed. On a Tuesday night, pouring with rain, it was no surprise that the restaurant was quiet. However, the welcome was so friendly and warm, it bothered us not at all. All dishes were great but the Xacuti Chicken was particularly fine. If it maintains this quality of food and service at such a reasonable price, we will keep coming back again and again.

Very attentive staff, food was nice but maybe too similar in flavour between side dishes and main. However would recommend you try.
