Welcome to the Chateau, as aired on the Food Networks series Summer Rush.

It is with great pleasure and 20 years of traveling that we bring you our interpretation and flair of the American gusto to traditional European dishes.     We had high expectations after reading the reviews but we did not experience that level of wow! First and foremost our waitress was fabulous. She alone made the evening wonderful and our drinks were well made too. DONT think you are really getting a lake view. It is in a house with a limited yard view of the lake. The Food Again we had high expectations for the food. We were interested in getting the chateaubriand, but it was just “a single serving” 6 oz for $72.00. My husband got short ribs and they were fine. My friend and I didn’t see anything we wanted so we each ordered a poached lobster side dish with vegetables and the lobster tail was very good. If my friend did not see this as a side dish we were at a loss as to what to order. We ordered bread. It came as a full rather large of to the table. I asked if they could please cut it in the kitchen and they were aghast. So I stood up and sawed through the bread. It had a crusty crust so it took effort to cut through it with crumbs everywhere. It was served warm which was nice but it was a rather blah bread. As the evening progressed it was so dark you could barely see on the porch. Needless to say if we go to Lake George again we will not dine here

    The tuna tartare and sea bass were amazing. Wine selections were fine but not a lot of mid-priced options. The doughnuts were fresh made and the best dessert in my opinion. The only drawback was the purple lights. They had actually made it hard to see and threw off the ambience. However, we had a great server and overall a wonderful experience.

    Bartender Jonathan was great, letting us sample a few of the wines before making a selection and he poured, Prosecco with our seafood tower. on the house? Disappointed in the seafood tower , they served snow crabsmall very hard to eat for $90 (small tower )expected either larger snow, crab, or King crab. Horseradish to go in cocktail sauce was not good at tasteless.. lollipop lamb chops highly recommended.

    The food and service was great. Been there once before. The only odd thing was that they no longer use stem martini glasses, which I find kind of odd for a classy restaurant. Some restaurants use excuses for breakable and spillage. But no reason to do that especially when you’re charging the price a few dollars higher than even the downstate restaurants. Hope their wine glasses remain stemmed and don’t turn into paper cups. Lol.overall still love the place.

    It was a quiet weekend in Lake George, we had a lovely dinner, everything was fantastic.
