   My lover and I enjoyed the food and experience at The Chequers. The scallops were to die for, my lover said as she scoffed them while I wrestled with the terrine. Our mains were beautiful, I had the onglet de boeuf (hangar steak) which came with a rather strange gem lettuce covered in cheese. The burger was very nice and tasty.

   Quaint traditional atmosphere was nice. Service was ok, given it was not crowded at all. Ordered the beef Sunday roast that was 30% inedible fat. Drink and appetizers orders were forgotten. Overall experience was just ok given the amount of the bill. Cocktails were fabulous though!

   Booked a table for 4 to celebrate our sons low key 21st birthday , chequers was his choice after recommendations from friends . Service and food was excellent and we will definitely be coming again , you do pay a bit more than most places but we felt it was value for money as we each had 3 courses which were excellent .

    Superb. possibly best restaurant in Bath and definitely the best main (venison) and dessert (white chocolate) I have had in years. I’ll be back next month for sure.

    Brilliant restaurant We had a vegetarian and a pork belly. Both amazing. Food came hot and plentiful. Best roast I’ve ever had. We sat upstairs where there were bigger parties so quite noisy. We didn’t mind but if you want a quiet table ask for downstairs. Service was fantastic. Very helpful. We had sticky toffee pudding for desert. It was awesome. Enough to share after the large Sunday roast we had.

    Had an amazing experience with the Valentines set menu, the food was flawless and the service was impeccable. We were looked after by a lovely waitress, very attentive and made sure we were looked after. Would recommend to anyone!

    Food was mediocre and expensive for what you got, service was good. Place was full of noisy screaming kids. You’re better off just going to a proper restaurant. Good pint of Guinness though.

    Amazing food, a bit further from the city centre (in a good way!) - a true find in Bath. We had an initial problem with reservation but staff was kind and attentive to us. Truly recommend!

    My lamb with harissa and figs was unbelievably delicious. I would go again just to eat it again. There was a large party near us however which made it hard to chat at times.

    Great local pub, with busy Sunday roast crowd. We arrived early to our reservation, staff was clearly busy running around taking orders and serving drinks/food. Hence we have been forgotten for the first 5-10mins. But they caught up, drinks and food came out on time and pork roast was delicious.

    Excellent Sunday roast, even at a 6:30pm seating. Often roasts can often be 'over' by then. Dylan, our waiter went out of his way to see to all his tables! Just makes the perfect end to the weekend with delicious food. Thank you and back soo to Chequers.
