The food was excellent, our waitress attentive and the decor the right balance between homely and a pub. But what was going on with the beer??? It was a Tuesday, the pub was 70% full, mostly diners (which most pubs would be delighted with on a tube strike Tuesday) and there was 1 lager and 1 bitter on tap. Had a very busy weekend??? Not a great excuse.

First time for their new menu. Fricasse of mushrooms, not really a fricasse, but very tasty. Loin of pork not a success, it appeared to be pulled pork, pressed into a hamburger shape. A small point, wine can now ordered by yhe small glass of carafe, no 250ml option. Pleasant surroundings, very helpful service.

The menu is varied with some unusual ingredients. The vegetarian options are tasty. There are sheltered tables in a very pleasant garden.
