We loved it! My husband and I just wanted a Miami gateway for our 18 year anniversary. While we were looking for a good place, The Knife brought up good memories because it was our favorite years ago back in Virginia. Thankfully we were right! The food, the service, and a cup of wine and anniversary desert and candles, as treat by the manager. 🙌🙌we loved it 👌

The entire experience, from getting there all the way until we left was a very pleasant experience. At arrival we were greeted by Cristina, who also happened to be our server. She deserve a separate comment. Sweet, attentive, quick, interesting and funny, all in one person. But I will get back to her at the end. Food was perfect, as always. There were just a few customers, so the meat was not ready-ready, which is understandable. That little wait allowed me to have a nice conversation with both parrilleros. The empanadas are out of this world. Getting better by the minute and those fried sweet potatos should be either illegal or at least affect your credit score. In summary, our visit explains and justifies why I have been a customer since 2002 or 2003, when they first opened in Hallandale. Now, time to talk about Cristina. She is by far the sweetest girl you can imagine. The way she greets you, how she is constantly checking on her customers and how she makes sure everything is right, is fantastic. I really hope she is working the net time I go. It will be really hard for the other servers (and they are all good, btw) to match her performance. Para los argentinos, she is a 10 + IVA.

Food was good same as the meat, what i did not like that much is the concept of have to making a line to ask for the meat and have to wait until meat is cooked for all the persons in the line. Fortunately there were not too much people at the moment that we were there, then line was taking 8 to 10 minutes.

We are returning clients to this location; however, the service and food quality were very disappointing compared to previous visits. We had to ask multiple times for basic items such as mashed potatoes and fries. The fries never arrived, and the mashed potatoes that were brought out appeared to be overcooked and not fresh. The meat quality was also not consistent with what we have experienced in the past, and there were noticeably fewer cuts available. Throughout the meal, we had to repeatedly request water and soda, as the server did not check on the table regularly or follow up on our needs. In addition, we noticed a significant increase in prices, which does not reflect the current level of service or food quality.

I had a disappointing experience with the service. Toward the end, our server asked how everything was, and we told him it was fine. However, when it was time to pay, the tip option on the machine was already set to the highest amount. We chose to customize it and left a $10 tip, which we felt was fair. What made the experience uncomfortable was the server’s reaction. He looked at us and commented that it “wasn’t very nice” because we only gave a $10 tip, implying it should have been more. That felt very unprofessional and inappropriate. Customers should never feel pressured or judged over how much they choose to tip. People tip based on what they can afford and what they believe is reasonable. You never know someone’s financial situation, and any tip should be appreciated, not criticized. Unfortunately, this interaction left a bad impression and took away from the overall experience.

This place is definitely a keeper! The lentil soup is one of the best I’ve had, and the grilled meats are exceptional. Did I mention they use real charcoal? Flavor oriented from start to finish! You won’t be disappointed!! Enjoy 😊
