The Parlour Bar & Kitchen
Nice relaxed restaurant. Food was good too, more variety would’ve been a plus
It was great food, brilliant service - friendly and speedy
We ate on a Saturday lunchtime, overall good experience and pretty good value.
Food was okay (and nothing more), but waiters forgot some of our orders (even though there were more staff in the restaurant than customers at that time so busyness wasn't really an excuse). Overall, an okay place.
Although my reservation was made successfully online, there was a glitch in the system and the restaurant contacted me promptly to advise of not being able to fulfil the reservation.
Dined here for 6 month anniversary with my other half. Lovely food and drinks. Took a while for our food and drinks to arrive but there was only one man serving all the tables. Would definitely come back.
Food good, service seems to be lacking recently - our starter came up after we finished our mains!?
The pub was really nice for an afternoon drink but the food portions were tiny and not that amazing for the price. Would only recommend for a drink.
Great! Enjoyed the food. Wish the portion was bigger for its costs
This experience at Parlour was average. Service was slow and our food came up at different times
I have some dietary requirements (no gluten, no dairy) and even though the menu highlights that certain dishes can be made gluten and dairy free, the waitress looked visibly annoyed when I asked for the free from version and just kind of glared at me without saying anything. Not sure what I did or said but everyone else at the table noticed and there was an awkward silence after that. We all thought it was uncalled for and quite rude. Food is good, ambience is good (we sat outside) but the staff was quite rude and slow as well. Not sure if I’d go back after that experience - made me feel like I was doing something wrong by making them aware of my intolerances!
The venue is lovely, especially in the summer.
The service could be much faster, but they had to cover many tables at the same time!
We ordered cocktails and nibbles upon arrival and requested these arrive before the main meals and sides. The incorrect cocktails arrived so we sent them back however the main meals arrived before the (correct) cocktails and nibbles. We then cancelled the nibbles as we were already eating our mains but the side dishes never arrived!!! A very disappointing experience. We will definitely not be returning for meals over the weekends. The team is obviously too busy serving drinkers to pay any attention to the diners.
Very noisy but clearly is really a bar. Service very slow our food arrived cold... it es left sitting in the service tea for a very long time! We were the only table in there so incredible it took so long and arrived cold. They did take £25 off the bill but I would rather have had hot, prompt food! Won’t go back!
I have been to The Parlour previously and have enjoyed myself a lot. I was disappointed after being there a few hours and eaten a nice meal was told they needed the table and had to leave.
There was plenty of tables available and there wasn’t anyone else waiting for a table.
If I had been aware we had to vacat after a few hours, I would not have recommended restaurant to my friends.
Went for brunch. The staff was extremely friendly. The ambience by the front of the place near the windows is nice, though I found it quite dark in the back. I would have left if the only option was to sit there. It was not busy at 10am on a Saturday morning so we had our pick of seats.
Now about the food: my friend and I both got the avocado on sourdough with poached eggs. One of my eggs was cooked completely through (yolk not running at all). Both eggs were cold. The avocado was so soaked in lime it was all I could taste, and it was otherwise unseasoned. My friend’s eggs were cooked correctly but her toast was burnt (they did give her a new piece upon request). I don’t feel it was a dish which got the attention of a trained cook, so it was essentially a £10 piece of cold sour toast.
My husband reports his pancakes we fine. Nothing special but good enough.
Likely will not rerun, as the food did not stand up to the prices.
The Parlour has lots of good things and loads of potential. The food is very nice and the portions are good, especially the roasts. I did not have them but the comment was that the meat was very tasty. Burgers are less substantial but also tasty. Fries servings are a bit on the small side. My main was a lentils veggie option which was well cooked.
The restaurant itself is trendy and well kept, but a bit unprepared for big groups wanting to have a lengthy dining experience. We were 8 people for early dinner on a Sunday, booked in advance. We were sat at a high table, with five settings on each side (10 total instead of 8). Sitting on a high table with high chairs for dinner is not very convenient. The table was also not fixed, we had to put the brakes on it ourselves. it was more like a bar for drinks.
You could see that other tables (the place was quite empty) were also low tables, more suited for drinks than food, but were set for food.
The service was good. We had our own waitress, which seemed to be serving either all or a big part of the floor. As the place got busier, and as we were on a corner, we did feel a bit forgotten. We had to call for attention for both the desserts and payment.
In general I think the restaurant is good. A place to go if you find yourself in the area but nothing especial enough to go all the way to Canary Wharf. It feels more suited for drinks than food, but the kitchen does a great job. With that kitchen I believe they should make the effort to cater for sitting down meals and they could be looking at more patrons coming through the doors.
Really poor - arrived for Sunday lunchtime booking, were seated in the back of the restaurant away from other diners and then completely ignored for 15 minutes. It wasn't particularly busy and there were plenty of staff at the front. I went to the bar and asked if we could place our order and was told someone would be over, but still no-one came. 5 minutes later we got up to leave which prompted the guy who seated us to come and try to get us to stay but we decided against and went to The Ivy instead!
Ignored by staff for 5 mins before being seated. After being pointed to our table we were left waiting for a further twenty minutes without being given menus. The place was loud and the tables were messy. We left and went to dinner somewhere else. Would not return.
Service was confused and laboured, food (and even coffee!) arrived with stone cold poached eggs and cold stale bread. We had to sit on a small table as there were only two of us, even though the 200+ capacity restaurant was empty. Very odd. Manager kindly waived our bill but didn’t apologise. Very disappointing.
A vast array of options on the menu. There was a little confusion when asked for the kids mains to come with our starters and ended up with everyone’s starts & mains arriving at the same time.
The mezze board was yummy but the lentil and artichoke dish could use some flavour
The Parlour was absolutely lovely. Met friends for brunch. Some of the menu options seemed a little unusual but they worked really well. Will definitely go again.
nice buzzing place, the pumpkin ravioli was amazing
Service was friendly and quick, food good but nothing extraordinary
Nice vibe and attentive service
A very good option in Canary Wharf for a chill yet clean and classy brunch - excellent service and food for reasonable price.
Really enjoyed my meal. The sitting was lovely too
Food and service was lovely, would definitely recommend. Jay and the team were very helpful and accommodating throughout the booking for my group. The fact that your group can pre-order online, via a special link that is emailed over, makes things so much easier too.
Great place and location. We had a quiet area with a view outside. Food options are good, the fish and chips was very filling and tasted great too! I would definitely recommend for dinner, nibbles and drinks.
Been a few times and my favourite Sunday spot in Canary Wharf. Ambient, warm setting with good food and service. Would recommend.
We visited on Sunday for a birthday and pre Strictly Tour brunch. Our table was booked for 11.00 am although booking wasn't necessary as the restaurant was virtually empty at that time. Unfortunately, we were seated with ALL the only other diners by the door that was left open... not the best as it had to be one of the coldest days of the year or EVER! That said, the coffee was great, my daughter loved her chicken, waffle maple syrup avocado dish and my avocado on sour dough was pretty tasty ... shame about the pre-poached egg that wasn't hot so that was given a wide berth! The staff were really friendly and welcoming, but it just missed the mark for us this time.
I have been here several times before and I really like the place, but I never booked a table and I should add... great service!
For some reason our booking from open table hadn't been received by the restaurant even thought I had received a confirmation but the hostess didn't make a fuss and seated us at a decent table. The food was nice, we shared some starters and I had a yummy fish and lentil dish which was tasty but still quite healthy.
Ordered two beers were told a few minutes later that one was not available - asked for drinks menu again - asked for a different beer - first beer brought to table without glass, asked for glass - waitress returned with other beer and a glass. Still missing a glass and the second beer cap had not been removed from bottle - asked again for a glass and cap to be removed.
Ordered two starters and two mains - two mains arrived before the starters ? Asked for starters first - were told mains would be remade but not 100% sure that was the case.
Despite the poor service the food was good and that I would not complain about.
Finally when asking for the bill the drinks from the next table were on our bill and a charge for the beer that was not available so had to go through the bill and advise what had to be removed.
Overall I would not recommend - there are many more restaurants nearby that I would advise to try.
I have been coming to Parlour for several years. I brought 3 colleagues. The quality of food was good. We will return.
Regularly attend Parlour for lunch while in Canary Wharf. Food is of good quality and reasonably priced.
We had an enjoyable business meal at The Parlour. There was more than enough variety on the menu, and although the food wasn't outstanding, the service was very good. The type of seating tried to be different, with lots of different styles. I would definitely go back to The Parlour again.
