The interior setting of The Restaurant at Alderbrook takes its inspiration from the outdoors with warm colors of chocolate brown and sage green representing the gardens and lawn of the resort. Floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-levels amplify views of the brilliant shore and snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.

The cuisine showcases local seafood harvested from Puget Sound and Hood Canal. After all, our shores are encrusted with oysters, our docks lined with mussels, and our sea teems with salmon.

Amazing views, service and food. Alderbrook always does a great job My wife had smoked salmon on a bagel and I had the traditional eggs benedict.... Definitely a top 10 Benedict I've had. The views were spectacular and service was easily the same.

I am a former gold star mystery shopper . Professional secret shopper formerly. So I notice things. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and restaurant experience. A few takeaways- For dinner, We were initially seated at a ridiculously small table practically in the laps and elbows of two nice elderly ladies next to us. It was absurdly cramped. Chair against the wooden beam. An approx 3 ft diameter table. The ladies menu was in my head. I think it was an effort to give us window seating. But a poor choice for dinner dining . Many open& roomier tables were available. So we asked to be relocated. Our waitress was the most nice & sweet woman. She was truly a doll. How ever , our relocations ended up making her run around a lot. The table was not dressed - no salt & pepper , minimal flatware… ( which I wanted and couldn’t flag her down for). No water service . And I would’ve had a second glass of wine but was never asked. Compliments to the chef!! Our meal of filet mignon & king salmon was exceptional- except I wanted some salt & pepper which I could get no ones attention for - and I wanted more ice water, to no avail. Well. and I would’ve had more wine too! Since it was my birthday…

My daughter and I had brunch in the main Alderbrook restaurant. What a gorgeous view of Hood Canal. The water was calm and we saw a kayaker as well as a cute seal. I ordered (almost normal) Eggs Benedict, with the request for the egg to be egg white only. I asked for more of their wonderful hollandaise sauce. Used it all! Wonderfully seasoned potatoes, and orange juice to round it out. My daughter had dungeness crab cake eggs benedict, that she loved. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. We took a walk on the long dock after our lunch. It was a gorgeous day. Thank you, Alderbrook, for being so great for so long.

I get the whole idea of fancy restaurants having smaller portions, but come on... $45 or whatever for literally a couple puffs that truly could have been on a toothpick as an appetizer at a party. And about 3 bites of salad I could fix myself? I think they're taking themselves WAY too seriously regarding how fancy their food is and how small their portions are and how much they charge. It's a restaurant that's just not what they're pretending to be. Not in the same league. Come on...

We have been to Alderbrook Restaurant and hotel many times. This visit was just dinner but an anniversary celebration and we were overwhelmingly pleased. The food, front window seat to the Hood Canal magic, service from Keithan and company was all outstanding. We can't wait for our next visit. The only slightly negative was the family with small children nearby who were maybe not ready for fine dinning rooms.

I took friends from Portland OR to dinner. They were impressed with every aspect of our visit. The beauty of the landscaping, the architecture of the buildings, the friendliness of the staff and the wonderful meal we had. I still missed the focaccia bread with dinner.🙂

We have had exceptional meals at Alderbrook in the past, but last night felt off. We were sat at a table with a “Happy Birthday” postcard (not for us) and without menus. Service was also quite slow. To be fair, there was a wedding outside, and they were likely understaffed overall. My smoked s’mores old fashioned was lovely, but was served with two sad little marshmallows and a lot of smoke that lingered in the glass after it was uncovered. It was hard to enjoy what was otherwise an excellent drink because of how much smoke stuck around in the glass (a snifter), perhaps a change of glass (and a rocks option) would help. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and quite good, but the mashed potatoes weren’t very smooth, and the broccolini was tough. The mushrooms served with my steak were also served in an odd pile next to it without any flavor, just a pile of lovely mushrooms left to fend for themselves in a wilted pile (lol, but also, sigh). For $62 + extra for the mushrooms, it could have been a better plate.

We all had the crab melt for a late lunch. It tasted ok but was not that impressive. The seating was lovely, though, overlooking the grounds at a quiet corner booth. Afterwards we walked out on the pier and enjoyed watching seals from Adarondak chairs on the grounds.
