The River Grille’s menus showcase the finest seasonal ingredients, locally sourced and simply but deliciously prepared. Highlights include fresh fish and seafood – with specials that include the catch of the day from the nearby fishing port of Brixham – and deliciously tender steaks made from 28 day aged West Country beef, all expertly barbecued on a our grill.

Good location - nice view of the harbour, lovely ambience, tasty food and the staff were really friendly. It was my partners birthday and they surprised us with a birthday dessert and candle to celebrate! Will be coming back :)

We had a lovely meal. The ambience was lovely too. The only thing which we were disappointed in is that we went to order a bottle of wine, to be told we couldn't order a bottle only a glass, even though the wine list said by the bottle.

The River Grille had no trace of my OpenTable reservation (“OpenTable? That’s why it isn’t in the system”) but there were plenty of tables on a Thursday night and I was sat by the window with a pleasant view. Steaks were tasty but arrived medium-well versus the medium-rare ordered. No pink in the middle. Decent food but the extras add up: £150 for two steaks, sides, two starters, and two glasses of wine.

We had a great dinner with friends before we went to see Kevin Bridges. The food and wine was great and the service was excellent. Our waitress Jocelyn was especially helpful and super friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

There is a small menu, but the food was excellent. We found the temperature in the restaurant a bit low, so bring a cardigan.

The restaurant was empty when we arrived, however the dining room did get busier by time we left (we are still talking about 4-5 smaller tables though). Service was slow, with only one main waiter around. Starters were lukewarm, and felt like pre-frozen ready made items that were reheated. Was not tasty 😢 Mains were better, although size portions were on the small side. Desserts also felt were not made in house and again previously frozen and reheated. Feel at this price level and for the setting, the quality should be much better. Will not be returning or recommended any time soon I’m afraid. Very disappointing experience.

Lovely to sit and listen to the music whilst eating, all very nice, especially the triple cooked chips, but the dessert was very disappointing.
