A restaurant that thinks it’s acceptable to cancel a reservation without calling is a restaurant I won’t patronize. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
A convenient pre-concert restaurant for Roy Thomson Hall and the Mirvish King St theatres. The best value is the bar food but the main dining room offers many options though focused on steaks. The menu signals its high end ambitions by flagging the mains come unaccompanied so order extra vegetable sides. But an early lighter supper can be created from the wide appetizer selection. Our most recent experience in the main dining room offered excellent service by all the wait staff. Even offered to store any doggy bag until the concert's end (no food allowed in the concert hall).
The seafood dishes were good but both steaks were over cooked. The service was amazing. Over all it was a good experience. Me not liking seafood and the fact that both steaks were over cooked I personally won't be back.
It was a nice time at the restaurant. With good food.
We've been here before. Each time the food has gotten better. This time I couldn't fault anything. All up, we had a great night. The service couldn't have been better. Our server Frank, was both attentive but also gave us space to enjoy ourselves.
My third visit proved to be my last. I had informed them when I arrived at 5:20 that I had symphony at 7:30. My main did not arrive until 6:50 which I then had to wolf down in order to get to the venue with time to spare. It was not busy, there were several empty tables.
I ordered a glass of wine but was charged for a whole bottle. When I pointed out the error he said "you were on the bottle page". No, I pointed to the price per glass. Then I was charged for a large glass. I did not consume a large glass and was finally charged $22, the correct price. Little old ladies do not order bottles of wine, especially before a concert. If he was unsure... ask.
The lobster bisque would have been wonderful had it not been for the heat which overpowered the delicate fish and burnt a hole in my upper g.i. track for the remainder of the evening. The main was swimming in herb butter which was cloyingly, again overpowering. In my gastronomic book; strike one and you are out.
The only up side; the Whiskey Sour was fabulous. Too bad I won't be having another.
I had requested a quiet table and were given as quiet a spot as possible. Our waitperson Liz was great. So friendly and accommodating since we were in a bit of a time crunch—she made our dinner a really nice experience.
For our first encounter, we were quite pleased with the overall experience!
Great food & atmosphere
Great staff and great food. Definitely would go back many a time.
Attended for New Year’s Eve and overall it was an excellent food experience. Service was great as well.
Excellent seafood and steak dishes. Nice wine and cocktail menu. We look forward to coming back with each visit to Toronto.
Amazing service from the start. In our reservation I put the special occasion we were celebrating and the attentive server brought us a complimentary appetizer and mentioned the special visit from our mom. We all had very tender prime rib and thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions. The Shore Club was 2 minutes away from our theater and our Come From Away day was completed by this lovely meal.
A great dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Lovely time as usual. We will continue to return to this spot!
Top notch service. Excellent food. Perfect evening prior to the TSO.
Great service and the food was delicious
Food and service at The Shore Club is always top notch. Steaks are cooked perfectly, and the sides are fantastic complements. Key Lime Pie for dessert was a perfect ending.
Service was attentive without being intrusive.
As usual, a very good experience.
The Shore is that rare mix off the Financial District of value and comfort. It’s not a loud dealmaking atmosphere but has enough energy to offer both a distraction yet remind you that you dining at a nice place in the heart of a vibrant city. Definitely a go-to place expense card or own dollar. Fish and chips a must try. Great staff.
We had a department lunch at The Shore Club and it was a success. We had a group of tables all next to each other and were able to talk amongst ourselves. Me personally, I felt the music was a bit loud but I'm not sure anyone else mentioned it. Monty was our server and he was very good, I would definitely go back.
What an amazing experience overall. From the moment we were greeted at the front of restaurant to our excellent meal and server Lou, I would definitely recommend The Shore Club to everyone. I can't wait to come back. Thank you to everyone who made our dining experience so wonderful.
Awesome service at the bar!
Everything from the cocktails to every item on the menu I tried was delicious. The wait staff was accommodating, courteous and knowledgeable about everything from which wine pairings go with which dish & what cocktail appeases your palate best.
My husband and I went for pre-show dinner. The service has been great. However really disappointed with the taste of food at such high prices. Would not be back.
Liz went above and beyond to make our experience amazing! First class highly recommend dinning at Shore Club with Liz and her staff 👍🏼
Had a great business lunch. Would definitely go back. We had great service.
Went there to celebrate a milestone birthday. Service could not have been better. Food and ambience great too. What a gem.
We forgot it’s holiday time and lounge was booked for an event. Dining area was separate however we were placed next to lounge so very noisy. It’s that time of year. Didn’t realize complimentary bread, meaning we didn’t ask for it, was delivered and than charged to bill. Come on. Food was very good, cauliflower a little spicy, service was excellent and would recommend.
I was there for ore concert, they take care of us very well.
Took our daughter there for her birthday. Service was phenomenal! They brought us complimentary champagne at the beginning and a birthday dessert for her at the end. Highly recommended!
Amazing ! Everything was cooked to the perfection ! There are 3 of us , and we each ordered a fish dish , cooked in 3 different ways , and each dish was delicious! The service was excellent !
My friend had fried chicken with a salad which he enjoyed. Although salad was nice he said he missed the fries.
I had the trout special. Crispy skinned trout filet with green beans and ricotta gnocchi - exceptionally well prepared and delicious.
We also had fresh baked bread which was terrific.
Will definitely be back.
Service and Food was excellent. The great thing I like about it is that it’s not full of Bay Streeters. It’s a little out of the way but we’ll worth the walk.
Always a pleasure to dine at the Shore Club. Competent, attentive and professional staff makes the difference.
Compliments to the chef on the Burrata Salad - Excellent!
Food was absolutely fantastic. Our server was a true professional. He made the night that much more enjoyable. My wife and I would like to give a shout out to Lou our waiter. Next time we are back in Toronto we will make sure to visit the Shore Club again...…….and we will ask for Lou !
Mike and Lisa
Great place. I will be back.
The Shore Club is a great restaurant to celebrate special occasions. The service is exceptional and the serving staff are thoughtful and personable. The menu items are delicious. I ordered the Stuffed Rainbow Trout and the flavouring was exquisite. There is such a subdued and relaxed ambience.
From the site, I was expecting a much more quiet experience. There were several tables seated nearby that apparently thought we were at an Applebee's ...
- Decent wine list
- Food was delicious - we had prime rib special and stuffed trout as mains - bisque and caesar salad starters.
- Very comfortable bar - we should have just stayed there to dine...
- Service was a bit confused... clearly trying to remember menu details and answers to questions about the menu... bit frustrating...
- Unless you are prepared to deal with hearing 10 conversations while trying to dine, don't bother...
Would be more than willing to give it a retry, but with a different expectation... Maybe it was just an "off night" but the layout seems conducive to a lot of background/chatter... I expected a much more quiet and less "club-like" experience.
