Guided by Chef Anthony Chittum, Vermilion stands committed to the growers, farmers, watermen and myriad purveyors of the Mid-Atlantic watershed. As a native of Maryland's Eastern Shore, Anthony brings an innate sense of place to each plate with an intractable reverence for local ingredients, and an aesthetic that allows these ingredients to shine.

The thoughtfully curated beverage program at Vermilion echoes this philosophy with an expansive offering of terroir-driven wines and a cocktail menu committed to seasonally sourced ingredients.

Wonderful restaurant on king street. Lots of history there. Food was so fresh and service was exceptional. Vino… great bottle of wine too, highly recommend! Juliett was our server and David jones the manager were both terrific. Very pleasant experience.

Suggestions: 1. Please have at least one gluten-free dessert option on the menu, or we may not return! 2. Please get an espresso machine. 3. The selection of appetizers was a bit thin.

Enjoyed my birthday dinner here with a special printed menu saying happy birthday (but no surprises as promised by wait staff). Eggplant entree was flavorful and good! Hazelnut brown butter cake was also pretty good but perhaps slightly dry but accompanying espresso ice cream was the bomb. Love the flickering gas light fixtures and service was excellent. Noise level got pretty high as evening got into swing.

We have been to Vermillion for family celebrations three times and always done the Farm To Table. Food is exceptional and a fantastic way to get a deep experience of the chef's talents. Amazing on all levels including service, vibe and space.

We went to Vermilion for the first time on our anniversary and they were so thoughtful! We got special menus printed to celebrate and a celebratory glass of champagne before getting the farm to table tasting menu. The food was amazing and the special “gifts” from the kitchen to supplement the menu were a great touch. The old fashioned flight was fun and unique. We’ll be back!

Our server, Nikolas, provided a really nice evening for us. It took his time to walk us through details on the menu and make sure that we were having exactly the kind of experience we were looking for. I appreciated his hospitality and upbeat attitude. The food was good and I recommend the hazelnut brown butter cake for a dessert. It was very nice.
