   Arrived at 5:05, our waiter was very pleasant throughout the entire night. We ordered some appetizers first thing, and placed an order for a main course steak around 5:30. Didn’t receive any updates on what was taking so long, the food never arrived. Plates and table settings brought by around 6:00pm. Sat at our table sitting idle for a total 1.5 hours until a few minutes shy of 7:00pm, until I finally had to ask for our bill. Of course the steak was voided, but it was the 1.5 hours that was ultimately a huge disappointment in terms of time wasted. Unfortunate because everything else was seemingly ok.

   Had a date night here and it was the perfect intimate spot! It cute that at the table we were at you sit on the same side of the both. Very romantic and the food, wine and service were exceptional.

    Service was incredibly slow. Took about 30 min for us to get our initial drinks, first plate arrived before our drinks. Despite this, we still ordered more plates - however an hour and a half in and bottle of wine almost done our food was still not there so we cancelled our order and left. The one plate of tapas that we did get was good, but the experience was disappointing for NYE.

    Excellent food and service! We ordered a variety of tapas and every one was fresh and warm when delivered. The apple crumble was delicious too!

    Took the adult kids here and we had a variety of shareable dishes. The wine by the glass is fabulous including nice bubblies and knowledgeable staff to help out with picks. Pricing on food is better than most places of similar stature in Calgary right now, even the kids noticed that value proposition (even though it was my treat). Tons of excellent dishes that are gluten free so we had no problem accommodating our one person in the party of five. The wines are both familiar and some outliers so it was really nice to try something new. Well done, we will be back.

    Small cramped seat by the door, cold and drafty so we just had a glass of wine and left. Server was okay once he got into it.

    Went to Vin Room for my friend’s birthday. Still dreaming over the Lobster Nachos and Beef Carpaccio. Great atmosphere and attentive service.

    I think they are going out of business soon. The menu was mostly crossed out…in sharpie … the decor is unkempt and unmaintained. It’s sad. The location and staff are lovely. We didn’t stay to eat, guilt ridden though we were.

    Service seemed very rushed and inattentive, similar to what you would expect on a very busy night at a hot spot…. Except… we were the only people in our section? So it was unclear why they seemed so busy/understaffed when there were 3 wait staff/bartenders for two tables of 2 people. Poor recommendations that did not match what we asked for, no offer to replace a glass of wine that we disliked so much we didn’t even drink it beyond the initial tasting, and food that was okay but generally not something you would pair with wine… at a wine bar. We were disappointed and will not be back.

    Vin Room has always been one of my FAV restaurants. This one time, my experience was far from even satisfactory. The service was AWFUL. Our waiter (a guy I've seen there many times over the years) never asked how anything was (it wasn't good). He only came by once in almost 2 hours to ask if we wanted more wine (we did! We would have had much more!). He actually made fun of/insulted us TWICE. I was not impressed. It's the only time in my life I didn't tip 20% (I still tipped 10% - but even that was not deserved). The food (I always get the same thing) was mediocre at best (and the broccolini practically raw). I will end by restating that Vin Room is one of my all time FAV Calgary restaurants - and this was definitely an anomaly. However - it wasn't just subpar this time. It was downright unacceptable. I WILL still recommend Vin Room to friends (I always do!!) but I will also be upfront with friends about this last experience.

    My husband and I chose this restaurant as it was our anniversary and we had been there a couple years ago and had a fantastic meal . We ordered 3 appetizers, the steak and mushroom bites that were cold . The brocolini was cold as well and both had no flavor. Our last appetizer was the lamb meatballs they were hot and flavorful. The gentleman that was serving us did not inquire about our meal as we would have mentioned our disappointment. We also noticed it looks rather run down the upstairs area where we ate the carpets are looking worn and the chairs we sat on were hard and you sank when you sat on them. We were upset with the experience we had. Hopefully it was just a bad night for the waiter and the cook.

    Very slow night. Older male server and food runner. The wine was suggested and ok, but expensive. We had 2 extra glasses of wine and the waiter just brought some unknown wine. Bill was $190 with a tip and we just shared a small cheese plate with the wine. Fireplace not working and outside cushions stored near out table. Probably not coming back

    Seated upstairs, we had a nice private table. Our server was very informed about the wines helping us decide the particular bottle to try. Our meal was served hot and of the choices on the menu, we were very happy with our selection; salmon with quinoa and veggies. Atmosphere was quiet - not silent but allowed for easy conversation. A definite YES to going again.

    The appetizer and main meal were both fantastic. Our dinner ended up being delayed, and our server, Mackenzie, was so apologetic and brought us a glass of wine on the house. We usually tend to rush through a meal, but we actually enjoyed having a more slow-paced dinner, sipping our vino on the outside patio. Service was outstanding.
