Understudy is the bar upstairs at Sunday School in the Post District, Wednesday to Saturday from 5. Climb the Stairway to Heaven through the Sunday's Best front door. A place to drink and eat. Drinks lead: nine cocktails with alcohol and nine without, mirrored and priced the same, and a natural wine list. Food in support, and it is serious: a modern American kitchen from Chef Tyler Stokes of Provisions, seasonal, made from scratch and cooked over charcoal. Oysters, hamachi crudo, wagyu carpaccio, bone marrow, branzino, a proper patty melt. Dinner until 10, then a late menu until close. One record plays each night. Book a table in the lounge; the bar is always walk-in. 21 and over.
