I had one of the best meals I've ever eaten. I ordered the whole fish, and was blown away by it. I love the attention to details in the decor year round, but really soaked in the Halloween vibes! I also had one of the most imaginitive martinis ever, with flavor combinations I've never dreamt of. My server was the best as well: I have celiac disease, and even though the menu doesn't mention gluten free options, she and the chef worked together on the spot to provide me with a completely safe meal. They both understood what celiac is, and went out of their way to accommodate. Sobre Mesa is my new favorite restaurant. It is THAT good. Food, service, ambience, and customer care are all top notch.

Fun ambience, friendly attentive staff, mostly reasonable prices. The cocktails are incredible. My friend and I each had a burger and it was outstanding. The snack plate was a fair deal and included popcorn, olives and assorted cheeses. The staff treated us like family and were always smiling and friendly.

Mago had a fall prix fixe that was superb. It each dish was good but better than the last. And the dessert followed suit and led to a wonderful crescendo of a fantastic meal. And the wine pairing was exceptional. We invited some friends to join us and it was their first visit. They loved it and I fully expect that they will return again as we have done a number of times.

Excellent food with some interesting twists. I had an excellent salad with passionfruit dressing. A first for me. Another member of our party had a rice dish with an egg on top, he said it was perfect. I know we will be going back.

This was a great experience just like all the times I go when visiting Oakland.
