Located within landmark Qantas House at Chifley Square, Grill Americano Sydney brings Chris Lucas's celebrated Italian-inspired steakhouse to the CBD, led by Executive Chef Vincenzo Ursini. From early morning, the Caffè serves espresso, Italian pastries and light fare. Inspired by Manhattan's great Italian steakhouses and the timeless glamour of Harry's Bar in Venice, the dining room pairs soaring ceilings, rich cobalt tones and marble finishes with contemporary energy. Whether dining in the main restaurant or one of the elegant private dining rooms, every detail is designed for effortless hospitality. The menu champions exceptional produce, from premium steaks cooked over charcoal (recognised among Australia's 101 Best Steak Restaurants) to handmade pastas, refined cicchetti and mozzarella air-freighted from Campania twice weekly. Signature martinis arrive ice-cold, and the celebrated Tiramisù Americano is not to be missed.

Soi Fire is Australia's first Thai grill house — a modern Asian fusion restaurant and Thai charcoal grill on the old Hugo's corner at 33 Bayswater Road, Potts Point, in the heart of Kings Cross, Sydney. The kitchen is led by chef Tony Doan, awarded a Good Food Guide chef hat for his cooking at Soi 25. Everything begins at the fire. Charcoal skewers built for sharing — sweet soy chicken, grilled pork neck, crocodile satay and the signature wagyu sirloin rubbed in toasted massaman spice — sit alongside ember-roasted eggplant, hibachi scallops on the shell, crispy-skin coral trout in choo chee curry, chilli jam fried rice and an 800g wagyu rib eye on the bone. The room is dark and loud — low light, charcoal smoke, a Thai-leaning cocktail list and wines from Bacchanalia — one of the few late-night dining rooms left in Kings Cross. Set menus for the whole table make it an easy spot for group bookings, birthdays and long dinners.Open Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm until late.
