Great and attentive service by all the staff and servers! Delicious and sumptuous courses that are beautifully presented! Manager, Jason, is the best!

It was very cool to see tuna cutting for the first time. We got lucky and won the raffle to the kamatoro cut, and it was no doubt the highlight of our meal. The cut was tender, juicy and buttery and worth every dollar. We also ordered tuna sashimi and sushi, which were fresh but the quality of the fish was less stellar. It was heavy on the akami and not much toro, and certain cuts were stringy and harder to chew. Overall this was a very unique experience, and I very much appreciate Shinsengumi for bringing cultural events like this to our neighborhood. I will definitely return for future events.

Everyone was very nice. Our Chef Chandler did an Excellent job cooking our food. I will definitely request him next time I go back.

If you've been to Akami before, you'll love the newest location. Taking over the space formerly known as Otto Otto, it's much bigger than the Live Oak location and features a much expanded menu, including skewers and ramen. The ambiance is nice enough for a special occasion. During their soft opening, they did not have their liquor license yet so enjoy soft drinks or hot tea in the meantime. The food is the same high quality you've come to expect. Welcome and I wish them much success in this new location.

We ordered baked scallop roll, yellowtail collar, mixed tempura, deluxe sushi, and uni pasta. Everything was delicious - especially the baked scallop roll and yellowtail collar. Service was good. Small restaurant so seating is limited, and noise level moderate. Parking lot very small and street parking is filled up quickly
